U.S. casino operator Las Vegas Sands Corp is working on a possible initial public offering of its Macau assets, after the company dropped plans to sell them. The person familiar with the matter in the company said Sands has hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to manage and conduct the sale.

The potential deal is still at an early stage, a listing of the Macau assets would possibly to take place in Hong Kong.

The company is currently operates the Sands and Venetian resort casinos in Macau.
