Following the overwhelming success of last year's inaugural Macau Tatler Ball, the annual gala returns to the Four Seasons Hotel at the Plaza Macao.

The evening's theme was Gallery of Glamour and commenced at the Tatler Lounge, where guests sipped champagne and posed for photos for local media as well as Tatler's own photographers. They were welcomed by the chairman of the Edipresse Group, Pierre Lamuniere, Edipresse Asia CEO and Macau Tatler publisher Barrie C Goodridge and Edipresse Asia's director of editorial, PR and strategy, Olivia Lee-Davies.

After the cake-cutting ceremony, guests headed to the Lotus Ballroom, which was lavishly decorated to evoke the glamour of the world's most prestigious art galleries. The night's entertainment included a wine parade by The Macallan and a rousing performance by the performers from the Venetian Macao.

As with any Tatler event, the evening's highlight was the awards ceremony, with Pansy Ho receiving the Diamond Award, Francis Leong as Most Promising Entrepreneur and Most Stylish Lady award to Florinda Ho.

Ponte 16 Resort Hotel is the title sponsor of the Macau station of Julien's Auctions' World Exhibition Tour. Themed ''Rock the World'', the exhibition is going to carry more than 100 pieces of genuine rarity and collectibles from the most top-notch celebrities in the modern-day Hollywood.

Ponte 16 and Julien's Auctions join hands in bringing to Macau a series of MJ's collectibles, which include his numerous stage-worn costumes, an opulent collection of furniture for his residence in Kent, England, as well as a series of autographed photos, music and movie contracts duly signed by MJ.

The exhibition will span from 30 April to 26 May, and for some specially selected items, the exhibition period will only be until 9 May.

Bryan Berg of the U.S. poses at his creation of the replica of The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, as he breaks his own Guinness World Record for the largest house of Freestanding playing cards at The Venetian Macau.

Bryan used 218,792 playing cards to build a replica of The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel during the 44 day project. The final composition is 35 feet long, 10 feet tall and weight 272kg.

美國建築師 Bryan Berg 在澳門砌出世界最大型的撲克牌建築，刷新自己保持的健力士世界紀錄。 要挑戰這項世界紀錄絕不容易，除了不准用膠水和膠紙鞏固建築結構外，在製成品展覽十天後，還要將它推倒作實。

Bryan Berg 用了四千零五十一副撲克牌，接近二十二萬張撲克牌，砌出澳門三座著名建築物。整個撲克牌建築長十米、闊三米，重量達二百七十二公斤。

Google are doing their best to cover as much of the World as possible with their Google Maps Street View, and now they have added Macau to their covered areas.

The service allows users to experience 360-degree street-level views and more map and street imagery through real photographs. Users can drag the orange Pegman in the upper-left corner of the map to the desired street location to access the Street View image, zoom or expand pictures and even move forward, backward or drag the Street View button to the location they would like to see.

Google Maps already provides Street View services in over 200 cities around the world.

The permanent exhibition at the casino resort in Macau - MJ Gallery, will display 40 coveted items of Michael Jackson memorabilia, alongside depictions of the most important moments in the King of Pop's life. One of the key exhibits at the MJ Gallery is the stumped up $350,000 US dollars for Jackson's left-handed glove – worn by the singer when he performed his first "moonwalk" dance in 1983.

The opening ceremony of the Gallery, the first of its kind in Asia, was attended by pop stars and locals.

Aside from the exhibition hall, the gallery also consists of a "time tunnel" that showed the most important moments of MJ's music life through pictures and videos, a music video showroom that plays his famous "Billie Jean" MV, and a gift shop. The chairman of Ponte 16 Ambrose So said at the opening ceremony that they have spent a fortune on the collector items displayed at the gallery, and hoped that the gallery will become a tourist attraction at his hotel.

The eight ‘lucky signature dishes’ feature mouth-watering combinations of the very finest fresh ingredients in a unique creative combination by two master Chinese chefs.

The ‘Exquisite Eight Specials’ include Salmon and vegetable salad with truffle yuza dressing, Wok-seared semi dried oyster with honey served with sea moss shrimp rolls, Braised fish maw, sea cucumber, abalone, goose web, shiitake, and Taro sesame rice dumplings in pumpkin sweet soup.

Prices for the ‘Exquisite Eight Specials’ are ranged from MOP 28 to MOP 488, and are subject to 10% service charge, 5% Government tax and the relevant terms and conditions.

The World Series of Mahjong (WSOM) - world’s largest mahjong tournament, will return to Macau this summer in the third-annual WSOM from 19th to 22nd August at the Venetian Macau. The event this year is expanding its size and reach to bring together some of the top mahjong players in the world and provide them with a brand new tournament experience at a world-class venue.

The event will include three separate tournaments, namely the 3-day single-elimination Main Event World Championship, a US$5,000 buy-in High Rollers Event and the US$1,000 buy-in Reach (Riichi Rules) Event, with a prize pool of US$1 million in the combines events and prize money will be paid to the top 32 places in the Main Event.

The organizer of the event said over the last two World Series events we saw extraordinary mahjong players emerge at these tournaments, with an amazing level of skill and competition.

The Venetian will also sponsor a new qualifying series of tournaments this year, “The Venetian Macau Mahjong Tour”, which includes events in Taipei, Tokyo and Sydney.


全球最大型的國際麻雀賽事 - 2010世界麻將大賽今夏將在澳門威尼斯人酒店舉行。 本屆比賽擴大了規模和普及性, 預料參加人數將更多, 戰況更激烈。

2010世界麻將大賽將包括三組賽事, 分別是單一淘汰制度的冠軍錦標主賽事、高額麻將賽及日本麻將賽。 本屆三組賽事的總獎金將高達一百萬美元, 而每組賽事的獎金將按每組的參加人數而定。 3個賽事參賽者入場費由650美元至5000美元不等。 在主賽事中突圍而出的前32強高手將可瓜分主賽事獎金。 凡年滿21歲的麻將愛好者均可報名參加各組賽事, 主辦單位將于2010年5月1日起接受報名。

主辦單位希望透過活動促進世界各地麻將愛好者交流, 並預料本屆賽事戰況十分激烈。 世界競賽管理有限公司執行董事哈德門先生說： 在過去的兩屆賽事中, 我們很高興看到不少技驚四座的麻將好手出現。今年的比賽不單擴大了規模及普及性, 希望能雲集更多國際高手及為參賽者提供國際級麻將大賽的嶄新體驗。

澳門威尼斯人也將贊助另一項“世界麻將巡迴賽” - (賽事今年3月開始分別在臺北、東京、悉尼進行), 各外圍賽分站前8名出線者將自動取得“2010世界麻將大賽”參賽資格。
