Hennessy, the world’s leading cognac house has proudly launched its latest Hennessy X.O Exclusive Collection, Opus 140, as a tribute to its legendary eXtra Old cognac, for its 140th anniversary. To manifest the grandeur of Opus 140, each bottle is individually numbered.

In celebration of the significant launch, Mr. Maurice-Richard Hennessy, the 8th generation of the Hennessy family and the honorary City of Dreams Ambassador – representing luxury and lifestyle, presented an autographed bottle of Opus 140 Jeroboam to City of Dreams on last Friday March 19, 2010 which will now take pride of place in its signature restaurant, Horizons. The bottle was received by Mr. Michael French, Senior Vice President of Operations, City of Dreams. This is a continuous collaboration between Hennessy and City of Dreams. Hennessy X.O Exclusive Collection One and Two – Magnificence and Iridescence - have also been showcased at Horizons.

140 years ago in 1870, Maurice Hennessy, the visionary grandson of Richard Hennessy, the founder of the house, created the original eXtra Old cognac in France. This subtle symphony of over 100 rare and matured eaux-de-vie (waters of life) was widely acclaimed as a work of art.

A delicate balance between power and refinement, Hennessy X.O is very masculine, delivering full-bodied and peppery warmth spiced with cloves, with old leather undertones softened by delicious hints of vanilla, cinnamon and candied fruits.

For the past 140 years, the Fillioux family, whose ancestors have been master blenders at Hennessy since 1800, has been transmitting the secrets of creating this exceptional cognac from generation to generation. The dual-family dynasty of the Hennessy’s and Fillioux’s has played a significant part in maintaining the fine quality of Hennessy X.O.

Now, as a tribute to Hennessy X.O’s 140th anniversary, Opus 140 is a magnified interpretation of the emblematic carafe which was designed in 1947. Its form was inspired by an upside down grape bunch, and decorated with the very vines from which this rare cognac was born.

The alchemy of its precious eaux-de-vie is symbolically represented by the perfection of the gold adorning the vine branches on the carafe. The gold is raw, in a state of fusion, ennobled by man’s skill through its multiple facets.

The shape of the vine branches on the carafe is life-like, but its rounded grains gradually give way to sharper lines and relief, giving an effect of perspective and escapism.

Cut into the metal itself, these elements work like a mirror, poetically evoking the endless horizons that this rare eaux-de-vie reveals to the palate.

Christian Dior boutique now opens at One Central Mall - Christian Dior 壹號廣場專門店開幕 (Christian Dior 壹号广场专门店开幕)

French fashion house Christian Dior has open its boutique at the One Central Mall in Macau, set to join the Louis Vuitton and Prada stores already located there.

Based on the design of the two-level Dior store, the interior design of the One Central Mall boutique takes its inspiration from the original concept of the couture brand’s Paris flagship store in Paris - Avenue Montaigne, created by internationally renowned architect Peter Marino. The exterior design of the shop features Dior's classic rattan checks - simple, elegant and approachable.

Dior men's boutique - Dior Homme will cover a total area of 120 sqm, this is the second Dior Homme Boutique in Macau, after the first one which was built at Wynn Macau in 2008.

The Dior women's boutique will retains Dior's classic characteristics, with the combination of luxury, nobility and joyousness suitably expressed the youthfulness created by John Galliano. Part of the women boutique will be open next year, the boutique will consist of spacious leather goods section, the footwear section will features a large extravagant rug to complement shoes in step with the latest trends, while the fashion section will offers the most chic fashion currently in vogue in France.

First Hard Rock Pool Party at City of Dreams 新濠天地首個Hard Rock池畔派對 (新濠天地首个Hard Rock池畔派对)

The first Hard Rock Pool Party was successfully held at Hard Rock Hotel - City of Dreams on the October 31. Popular Macanese band Soler and international DJs, DJ Kenji Hidaka from Japan and DJ Hubert de la Bath from France rocked the party with a live performance under festive Halloween ambiance at City of Dreams. Other entertainment for party revellers included performances by roving “zombies”, free face painting, Fancy Costume Contest and free-flow „trick & treat‟ give-aways. Signature drinks and tapas were served with themed Halloween specialties to whet the guests‟ appetites.

Soler is a Macanese rock band formed by Eurasian twin brothers Julio Acconci (piano/vocals) and Dino Acconci (guitar/vocals). Soler is renowned for the quality of their live performances, and the unique Soler sound. The band composes all their own music and produces songs for other artists in the Greater China region.

Guests DJ Kenji Hidaka, originally from Tokyo and now based in Hong Kong, his music style is very driving funky Latin fused house music with bouncing soulful disco elements.

DJ Hubert de la Bath, ambassador to the French touch in early 90‟ in Asia, popular for playing a selection featuring dirty dusty disco, old skull, hip hop, Balearic chuggers and electronic oddities were also on-stage to spin the music for the evening, in true hard-rocking style.

French Dj and record producer DJ Falcon - released his first EP (on Roulé) and produced a Remix of Cassius's "La Mouche" in 1999. Started working with Thomas Bangalter one year later from the electronic music duo Daft Punk, with whom they formed a musical band Together.

DJ ATL is an experienced DJ with a 3000+ vinyl record collection of mainly R&B and party music.

Châteaux owner Mr. Olivier Cuvelier of Château Léoville Poyferré and Mr. Samuel Lim - Chef de Cuisine, Crown Towers at City of Dreams, are offering a 7 course menu at Horizons for MOP$1,188 matched with exclusive Léoville Poyferré wines and a bottle of Le Crock 2005 signed by Mr. Cuvelier.

A 3-course lunch set is also available for only MOP$198 including a glass of Moulin Riche 2004.

The Horizons promotion will run from October 22 until November 8, 2009.

The French driver Arnaud Kozlinski has just won the Super KF World Championship in Macau - the first ever World Karting Championship staging in Asia. Kozlinski dominated the racing world by winning the pre-final in the dry, three days after his 28th birthday, the Frenchman took victory in the final despite rain beginning to fall shortly after the start of the race. Arnaud Kozlinski is also the first French World Champion in the premier class of karting. The race was halted after 75% of the race distance had been covered due to the weather condition. In this race, Aaro Vainio from Finland infiltrated into 2nd position and Manuel Renaudie from UK followed in 3rd position.

Adrien Allain Wins 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau 亞洲撲克巡回賽澳門站法國選手奪冠 (亚洲撲克巡回赛澳门站法国选手夺冠)

The Asian Poker Tour at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino was ended on Sunday 23th August. This year the event attracts a total of 326 entrants at the Asian Poker Tour Macau main event including the likes of Johnny Chan and the ‘Poker Pack’ – a group of six pros heralding from Asia, to enjoy a total prize pool of MOP $11 million.

23-year-old French Adrien Allain from Rennes is the 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival Main Event Champion. Allain banked US $0.39million for his efforts, which equates to MOP$3.03 million at current exchange ranges. "I'm overwhelmed, this is so wonderful," the Rennes, France native said. "I qualified for this tournament through a $5 lottery tournament on PKR and end up beating all these top players."

The runner-up was Inwook Choi from Korea. Choi got his money in with the best hand after pushing with AQ but Allain spiked a 3 on the flop and his A3 was enough to take the title.

Arguably the most successful player at the final table and holds two World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, J.C. Tran came third on the table and was eliminated from the tournament when Choi and Allain checked the action down on a board of A-J-10-9-8.
