Art and cuisine of a distinctly Australian flavor will, this month, be stimulating the senses of visitors to City of Dreams.

Mr. Jason Alcock, Chef de Cuisine of celebrated restaurant JJ’s Bar and Grill at Crown Towers, Melbourne, will be introducing his unique brand of Australian cuisine as special guest chef at Horizons from January 9-16, 2010, creating mouth watering dishes showcasing the very best of Australian-sourced ingredients.

City of Dreams also continues its ongoing art appreciation in 2010, with a selection of works displayed at Horizons, from Australian artist Mrs. Beverley Lay. Her contemporary pieces have been exhibited in both Australia and Canada. Her exhibition combines the use of finely detailed black on white pieces inspired by 16th and 17th century embroidered lace, as well as other beautifully colored images depicting artistic interpretations of various floras. The exhibition will feature at least 9 pieces from her collection entitled “Black on White”, and more artworks from another collection entitled “Flora”, including two large feature pieces in an explosion of colors.

Chef Alcock imports seafood and other fresh ingredients of the highest quality straight from Australia. His culinary style highlights the freshness and quality of the ingredients he uses, allowing their natural flavors and textures to take center stage.

The three-course Australian set menu is available for MOP388. The five-course dinner set menu is priced at MOP$638 or MOP$888 including matching wines with each dinner course. Prices are subject to 10% service charge.

Viva Macau Airlines announces direct Macau - Melbourne direct flights to commence from 9th December 2009. The new Viva Macau low fare Economy and Premium Class flights between Macau and Melbourne will depart Macau at 20:15 and 10:15 arriving in Melbourne at 8:45 and 19:10. Flights from Melbourne will depart at 9:45 and 23:30 arriving in Macau at 22:30 and 6:00.

23rd Macau International Music Festival 第23屆澳門國際音樂節 (第23届澳门国际音乐节)

The Macau International Music Festival attracts internationally renowned artists from all over the world to perform in Macau. More than half of this year's program - comprising opera, Chinese classical music, passionate Latin American tempos, New York fusion et al, will be performed in World Heritage-listed Historic Centre of Macau sites such as Dom Pedro V Theatre, St. Dominic's Church and Mount Fortress from 9th October to the 8th November.

An anti-drugs music event organised by Revolution Entertainment, which sends messages about drugs problems towards the youths of Macau through singing and dance performances, as well as some motivational speakers, from various countries and regions.

It was first began as a local indoor music concert in 2007. Last year, the organizers brought in several bands, artists and speakers from overseas including Australian idol finalist Tarisai Vushe, Indonesian movie star Pierre Roland, as well as TVB’s Corinna Chamberlain and The Vine Band from Hong Kong.

Macau will receive two “Wonders of Asia & Africa” luxury tours within a month from Australia leading luxury tour operator - “Captain’s Choice”. The first 19-day tours came to Macau on a chartered flight on February 15, while another will arrive on March 7. Macau is the last stop of the 19-day tour. Both tours will stay in Macau for 4 days. The visitors will be able to experience the diverse tourism appeals of Macau.

“Captain’s Choice” organized a 4 days chartered flight tour group to Macau on March last year and was well received. This year, the operator designed again luxury tours on chartered flights to cater respectively to 57 and 65 visitors from Australia.

The Monarch Airlines all Business Class Boeing 757 departs from Sydney and travels through various destinations, including Maldives, Kenya Game Park, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, India Taj Mahal and Macau. The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) provided souvenirs as a courtesy to wish the visitors a memorable experience in Macau.

Macau welcomed over 150,000 visitors from Australia lats year, a significant growth of 27% over 2007. Australia was identified among the priority tourism markets. VIVA Macau currently flies to Sydney 4 times a week.

22nd Macao International Music Festival 第22屆澳門國際音樂節 (第22届澳门国际音乐节)

The 22nd annual Macau International Music Festival was kicked off at the Macau Cultural Centre on 5th October.

Based in London, and founded by famed British conductor Sir Thomas Beecham, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will perform in Macau during the International Music Festival. The orchestra is led by Principal Guest Conductor Leonard Slatkin.

Other performances include the St. Florian Boys’ Choir from Austrian and the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet. Trio Apollon will presents the concert “Deutsche Romantik” on October 8 will perform masterworks of the German Romantic repertoire, such as Märchenerzählungen, op. 132 by Robert Schumann (1810-1856), Konzertstück No. 2 in D minor, op. 114 and Konzertstück No. 1 in F minor, op. 113 by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) and Trio in E-flat major, op. 40 by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897).

第２２屆澳門國際音樂節將從１０月５日一直持續到１１月２日, 音樂節將有來自英國、法國、美國、加拿大、葡萄牙等國家以及中國內地, 澳門的藝術家, 在２１場表演包括歌劇、交響樂、合唱等不同類型的演出。 澳門樂團將在新任音樂總監呂嘉帶領下, 為觀眾呈現莫扎特名曲的魅力。

為紀念普契尼誕辰一百五十周年, 澳門文化局與法國尼斯歌劇院特別攜手制作推出歌劇《三聯劇》以茲紀念。 澳門觀衆將有緣體會悲劇《外套》、神秘劇《安潔莉卡修女》及喜劇《賈尼·斯基基》藝術魅力。

澳門音樂節除英國皇家愛樂樂團外, 柏林愛樂管弦樂團、法國尼斯歌劇院、溫哥華交響樂團等, 都將登上澳門的音樂舞台。 來自美國的爵士樂、中國內地的原生態歌舞、澳門的原創中國音樂也將給觀眾帶來風格各異音樂享受。 音樂節還安排多場教堂及世遺景地舉行的免費入場小型演出 - 例如在聖若瑟修院聖堂舉行的奧地利布魯克納兒童合唱團演出、大炮台的爵士樂專場等。

由澳大利亞一家豪華團旅行社組織的私人包机旅行團，六日晚間乘坐澳大利亞航空班机抵澳，是澳大利亞航空首架降落澳門國際机場的班机，也是澳門的第一個澳大利亞私人包机旅行團。
旅行團團員接近二百人，全部是高消費旅客，他們留澳門四天，入住大型度假村酒店，在澳期間，團員將參觀澳門世界遺產及市內觀光等。
