Ponte 16 Resort Hotel is the title sponsor of the Macau station of Julien's Auctions' World Exhibition Tour. Themed ''Rock the World'', the exhibition is going to carry more than 100 pieces of genuine rarity and collectibles from the most top-notch celebrities in the modern-day Hollywood.

Ponte 16 and Julien's Auctions join hands in bringing to Macau a series of MJ's collectibles, which include his numerous stage-worn costumes, an opulent collection of furniture for his residence in Kent, England, as well as a series of autographed photos, music and movie contracts duly signed by MJ.

In addition, the exhibition also features a rich array of treasures from the most famed superstars in Hollywood, including ''Superman'' Christopher Reeve, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Madonna, and ''Titanic'''s leading lady Kate Winslet. Adding weight to this stunning list is a series of costume and props from the movie ''Star Trek''. The exhibition will span from 30 April to 26 May, and for some specially selected items, the exhibition period will only be until 9 May.

1. Exquisite furniture lots for Michael Jackson's residence in Kent, England, which he originally planned to stay during the ''This Is It'' concert in London.

The permanent exhibition at the casino resort in Macau - MJ Gallery, will display 40 coveted items of Michael Jackson memorabilia, alongside depictions of the most important moments in the King of Pop's life. One of the key exhibits at the MJ Gallery is the stumped up $350,000 US dollars for Jackson's left-handed glove – worn by the singer when he performed his first "moonwalk" dance in 1983.

The opening ceremony of the Gallery, the first of its kind in Asia, was attended by pop stars and locals.

Aside from the exhibition hall, the gallery also consists of a "time tunnel" that showed the most important moments of MJ's music life through pictures and videos, a music video showroom that plays his famous "Billie Jean" MV, and a gift shop. The chairman of Ponte 16 Ambrose So said at the opening ceremony that they have spent a fortune on the collector items displayed at the gallery, and hoped that the gallery will become a tourist attraction at his hotel.

The white glove, along with more private items of Michael Jackson - the late King of Pop will be exhibited together for the first time as the MJ Gallery at Ponte 16 will officially opens on Monday, 1 February, at 7 pm. The Gallery will be officially open to the public from 9 pm following the opening event. The first 300 visitors to the ceremony will be offered a limited edition MJ souvenir.

International pop diva - Coco Lee, 13-year old Britain’s Got Talent finalist - the Welsh boy Shaheen Jafargholi will sing live at the opening ceremony. Also joining the celebration in “The Gallery” will be pop singers such as Khalil Fong, Louis Cheung and the band Mr.

The Gallery’s will open free to the public with themed sections include: “Time Tunnel”, a journey through the most important moments of MJ’s music life; “Billie Jean” which features scenes from the Billie Jean music video; “Main Exhibition Hall”, a showcase of various precious collections; and Ponte 16 Gift Gallery, with special souvenirs of MJ.

Ponte 16 is a world-class integrated casino-entertainment resort located at the Inner Harbour.

Bryan Berg will launch an attempt to break his own Guinness World Record for the largest house of freestanding playing cards, at the Venetian Macau over the upcoming Chinese New Year. The World Record attempt will commence on January 26 and complete construction on March 10 at The Venetian. Bryan Berg added that this will be his most ambitious project he has undertaken, and there couldn’t be a more fitting place to build the world’s largest house of cards than at the world’s largest resort hotel.

Bryan Berg will attempt to build a replica of The Venetian Macau, The Plaza Macau and Sands Macau buildings - will use more than 190,000 cards and take 44 days to complete. The composition will be over 10 meters long, 3.5 meters tall, and weigh more than 227 kilograms. The cards Bryan Berg will use in this record attempt would stretch more than 17 kilometers.

After 10 days of displaying the completed record-setting replica, on March 20 Berg will have to knock them all down to prove that no tape, glue, or tricks were used. Bryan Berg will manage workshops for children, teaching them how to stack cards, as well as card stacking contests throughout the the construction period.

Visitors can see the project in front of the ZAIA Theater from 26th January to 20th March at the Venetian Macau.

Bryan Berg holds the Guinness record for the world’s largest house of freestanding playing cards, and the Guinness record for the world’s tallest house of freestanding playing cards.

由2010年1月26日起, Bryan Berg將挑戰在44日內以超過19萬張撲克牌堆疊出澳門威尼斯人、澳門百利宮及澳門金沙三座建築物, 並定於3月10日完成壯舉。 路氹金光大道的地標建築物及每一座擁有的特色細節 - 包括里亞特橋、鐘塔、弧形的澳門百利宮及澳門金沙, 將一一顯現在其撲克牌建築物。 完成後整個撲克牌建築物將會長10.5米、高3.5米及總重量超過227公斤。 如將Berg這次所用的撲克牌平放總長度將超過17公里。

為表證實, Bryan Berg會於作品十天展示期屆滿後將整個建築群推倒。 Berg會在不使用膠水、膠紙或黏合劑的情況下完成整個撲克牌建築物。

Art and cuisine of a distinctly Australian flavor will, this month, be stimulating the senses of visitors to City of Dreams.

Mr. Jason Alcock, Chef de Cuisine of celebrated restaurant JJ’s Bar and Grill at Crown Towers, Melbourne, will be introducing his unique brand of Australian cuisine as special guest chef at Horizons from January 9-16, 2010, creating mouth watering dishes showcasing the very best of Australian-sourced ingredients.

City of Dreams also continues its ongoing art appreciation in 2010, with a selection of works displayed at Horizons, from Australian artist Mrs. Beverley Lay. Her contemporary pieces have been exhibited in both Australia and Canada. Her exhibition combines the use of finely detailed black on white pieces inspired by 16th and 17th century embroidered lace, as well as other beautifully colored images depicting artistic interpretations of various floras. The exhibition will feature at least 9 pieces from her collection entitled “Black on White”, and more artworks from another collection entitled “Flora”, including two large feature pieces in an explosion of colors.

Chef Alcock imports seafood and other fresh ingredients of the highest quality straight from Australia. His culinary style highlights the freshness and quality of the ingredients he uses, allowing their natural flavors and textures to take center stage.

The three-course Australian set menu is available for MOP388. The five-course dinner set menu is priced at MOP$638 or MOP$888 including matching wines with each dinner course. Prices are subject to 10% service charge.

Visitors will have the opportunity to visit tulips exhibition which was held from 23rd December, shows over 100 thousand tulips at Av. da Praia in Taipa.

Known as the Queen of Flowers, the tulip is classified as a perennial bulb flower, the genus of Tulipa, the family of Liliaceae. It has been described as the most expensive flower of ancient times, with tulip bulbs valued at the equivalent of about US$1,000 dollars in 17th Century Holland.

Late King of Pop Michael Jackson's rhinestone-studded glove is set to go on display at Ponte 16 in Macau. The glove became famous in 1983 as the King of Pop wore it when he performed his now celebrated the world over “moonwalk” dance. The glove is reported to be the first one used by Jackson during a cult “moonwalk” live concert dance.

The newly opened Oceanus will also displaying the $250,000 Italian white truffle and the $350,000 sequined glove worn by Michael Jackson for one hour during the open ceremony as he premiered his "moonwalk" on national television in 1983.

Ponte 16 - the five-star hotel has scheduled to open a gallery on Feb next year to display the glove as well as nine other objects formerly belonging to Jackson and purchased at the auction. The hotel is aiming at creating a gathering spot for the greatest 20th century performer, it hopes the gallery will evolve into a sort of ‘shrine’ for Michael Jackson fans all over Asia. The nine other objects won by the resort included drawings of Charlie Chaplin sketched by Jackson when he was a child, a pair of sequin-encrusted socks and a shirt worn during his Thriller video.

The Consul-General of the Philippines in Macau said that, through the participation in the activities of the MIF, it is hoped that the economic relationship of their country with Macau will be further straightened. During the seminar, a memorandum of understanding was signed between IPIM and the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines for the establishment of partnership between MIF and Manila F.A.M.E. to mutually fairs and conventions, as a mean to develop the MICE industry in both territories.

Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao SAR, Dr. Francis Tam Pak Yuen was present at the seminar "Vietnam-Macau Opportunities for Investment and Trade", jointly organized by the Consulate of Vietnam in Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, Vietnam Quang Ninh Provincial People's Communities and Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute.

Speaking at the seminar, Secretary Tam said that Vietnam is one of the members of ASEAN and an important partner of Macau in the fostering of relationship with the member-countries of ASEAN. He said that there has been a further reinforcement of the trade and economic relationship between Vietnam and Macau in recent years and hoped that through this seminar, said cooperation would be further deepened and developed.

澳門經濟財政司司長譚伯源出席“促進越南-澳門經貿合作座談會”, 該會旨在探討澳門與越南的經濟合作, 活動由越南駐香港和澳門總領事館、越南廣寧省人民政府和澳門貿易投資促進局主辦。

譚伯源致辭時表示, 越南作為東盟其中一個重要的成員, 是澳門加強與東盟合作的重要夥伴。 近年來澳門與越南經貿及文化交往密切, 希望透過會議進一步推進兩地合作深化發展。 越南駐香港和澳門總領事館、越南財政部及越南廣寧省人民政府等各相關人士對越南經貿發展及產業政策做了介紹, 希望廣泛引進投資合作。

The 14th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) will be held at The Venetian Macau from 22nd to 25th this month. The event is an economic and trade exhibition to promote international co-operation and exchange in investment and trade, as well as a prestigious annual event among the business sectors in Macau.

This year’s the MIF will focus on Macau’s economic diversity and present Macau’s achievements, promote Macau’s investment environment and market dynamics, explore future development and further advance Macau as a trade and economic cooperation service platform. It will take advantage of Macau’s as a positive regional business position, and close ties with the Portuguese speaking countries and internationally.

Over 60 countries and regions from the European Union, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Portuguese speaking countries have confirmed their attendance. The event will attract more than 644 local exhibitors and 1,074 international participants, while Russia, Laos, Cambodia, Columbia, Cuba, and Peru are participated for the first time in this international event. The Portuguese speaking countries pavilion will be the largest ever and Taiwan’s pavilion will have its size more than double.


第14屆澳門國際貿易投資展覽會(MIF)將於10月22日起一連4天在威尼斯人度假村酒店舉行。 今年共有來自61個國家地區的288個代表團, 超過3千名海內外客商來澳參展參會, 展位元一共1074個, 規模同比增約20%。 預計有6萬人次入場。 俄羅斯，老撾、緬甸、柬埔寨等東盟國家、哥倫比亞、古巴、秘魯等拉美國家和地區首次參展。 今年葡語國家展區規模為歷屆規模最大, 台灣館展區今屆規模較去年增加一倍。

今屆主要展區有： 澳門館、澳門工商經貿館、中國內地省市展區、企業展區、台灣館、東盟展區、“俄羅斯遠東”展區、歐盟國家館、葡語國家館、葡萄牙館、葡語市場企業家展區、美國館、德國館、拉丁美洲國家館、國際貿易投資促進機構展區等。 展會特別設置了會展業、文化創意產業、國際品牌暨特許經營, 以及澳門工商經貿館等一系列展區展示澳門經濟多元發展概況。

貿促局初步收集簽署的合約金額約為30億澳門元。 包括來自世界各地超過2,383個新增商業配對項目。 其中1,849個為投資合作項目, 特許及連鎖經營品牌代理合作項目共158個, 供應項目共275個, 採購商採購項目共101個。

Macau became one the highest and fastest exhibition growth in Asia 澳門會展業成長快速 (澳门会展业成长快速)

According to the findings of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry's (UFI) study for Asia, the year 2008 marked Macau one the highest and fastest exhibition growth rates in Asia, which had growth for 67% compare to the previous year. One of the reason is due to the opening of new venue at the Venetian in 2007.

In regards to the number of congressional conventions held, it is estimated there will be about 1300 to be held in Macau here in 2009. The Convention and Exhibition Industry will continue to experience the vibrant and prosperous development in the next 3 to 5 years, at the same time facing plenty of opportunities and challenges ahead.

國際展覽業協會(UFI)公佈2008年“亞洲展覽產業報告”, 澳門是亞洲展覽產業成長最快速三大地區。 展覽產業面積分別較2007年增69%。 澳門會展業者認為未來3至5年, 在澳辦展總面積年均增長仍可保持20%-30%。 今年會議數目料全年可達1300個。

The Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) in Macau 亞洲國際博彩博覽會 (亚洲国际博彩博览会)

Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) 2009 - a premier gaming exhibition and conference event dedicated to the Asian markets, kicks off on the 2nd June after the City of Dreams held its grand opening on 1st June. The three-day conference will continue through Thursday, June 4, at the Venetian Macau CotaiExpo. This year, the event features 30 percent new exhibitors hailing from more than 20 countries worldwide. G2E Asia attendees will be among the first to experience 'City of Dreams' first-hand.

The organizer of the event will also honor Macau gaming magnate Stanley Ho, whose company SJM runs 19 of the city's 32 casinos, with the G2E Asia Visionary Award during the Opening Ceremony. Stanley Ho is being honored for his lifetime of achievement as a leader in the Asian gaming industry.

G2E Asia 2009 conference attendees will participate in a full-day forum on 4th June. The keynote address for this forum, "Asian Analysts: The Future of Gaming in Asia," will be held Thursday, June 4, at 9 am in the Naples Ballroom at the Venetian Macau.

Macao Museum in co-operation with the Nicéphore Niépce Museum - "A Journey through Light and Shadow" 澳門與法國博物館合辦攝影術展覽 (澳门与法国博物馆合办摄影术展览)

Macau Museum in co-operation with the Nicéphore Niépce Museum will stage the exhibition “A Journey through Light and Shadow – The Invention of Photography and the Earliest Photographs of Macau, China” in Macau.

The two-part exhibition first introduces the origin of photography whereby topic such as the birth of photography by showcasing the precious collection of Musée Nicéphore Niépce - the world’s first camera obscura, and those from different eras, and old images capturing important moments.

The second part of the exhibition details how the French first introduced photography into China via Macau - Macao is the first Chinese city into where French photography was introduced, which in turn was deemed the outset of Chinese photography. The exhibition displays valuable landscape photographs as well as the life and culture of Macau, Hong Kong and Guangzhou from 1844 until the early 20th Century.

由文化局澳門博物館與法國尼塞佛爾．尼埃普斯博物館聯手共同主辦 - 《凝光擷影──攝影術的發明暨中國澳門老照片》展覽, 將於5月22日下午6時在澳門博物館揭幕。 5月23日至8月23日在澳門博物館展出。

攝影術展覽將再現250件珍貴藏品。 藏品包括難得一見的世界上首部照相機, 以及澳門現存最早的一張銀版相片《南灣風光》等等。 展覽內容共分“攝影術的起源”和“中國的早期照片”兩大部分, 展示的180幅老照片及250件珍貴展品是由法國尼塞佛爾‧尼埃普斯博物館, 法國吉美國立亞洲藝術博物館, 法國地理學會, 法國國家圖書館及英、美、澳門等13家文博機構和私人藏家借出。

澳門是第三個獲得展出世界首部照相機的地點, 第一次是在2004年的紐約現代藝術博物館展出, 第二次是2007年在北京首都博物館展出。 觀眾還將可看到世界首張照片的影像《窗外景色》, 以及首次在澳門展出的最早一批在澳門拍攝的銀版相片《南灣風光》（原件）, 和《媽閣廟》等照片。

Construction started for Macau Pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010 - 上海世博會澳門館“玉兔宮燈”動土 (上海世博会澳门馆“玉兔宫灯”动土)

The construction of the Macau Pavilion for the Shanghai Expo 2010 has started on May 8.

The height of the construction of the building to be set at 19.99 meters, representing the year of the return of Macau to China. The building consist of 7 floors, with a land area of approximately 637 sq meters.
