Galaxy to buy land site in Macau 銀河娛樂購澳門土地建綜合渡假酒店 (银河娱乐购澳门土地建综合渡假酒店)

Galaxy Entertainment said on 11st September it would pay US$366 million for a land site in Macau. It will plans to develop a complex including hotel, apartment and gaming facilities. The site is located in Cotai, covered 440,248 square metres with a total buildable gross floor area of 1.7 million square metres.

Currently, Galaxy Entertainment is building a property called the Galaxy Macau on the parcel, which sits next door to Las Vegas Sands Corp's massive Venetian Macau. But there is plenty of space to develop future projects on the 4.7 million square foot parcel. Meanwhile, The Galaxy Macau could open as soon as late next year, featuring two 1,500-room hotel towers.


銀河娛樂宣佈斥資28億購入一幅澳門土地, 獲澳門政府批地, 購入一幅位於路氹鄰近望德聖母灣大馬路及蓮花海濱大馬路地盤面積44.02萬平方米土地, 擬建綜合渡假酒店。 該地皮可發展為可建總樓面面積170.37萬平方米的酒店、公寓式酒店、博彩、娛樂、休閒及其他相關設施, 以及29.3萬平方米的室外綠化範圍。

銀河娛樂已於9月10日支付地價首期款項11.6億澳門元, 餘額另加按年利率5％計算之利息, 將由承授人平均分八期每半年支付。

銀河娛樂指, 公司正在興建的大型綜合渡假酒店發展項目乃位於該物業之內, 除發展該項目外, 物業亦為公司提供土地儲備用作發展其他階段。 預期2017年10月前竣工。

The annual International Marathon has taken place in Macau for the past 26 years. This year, the internatinonal marathon has attracted many local and established international long distance runners from 47 different countries and regions.

Time: 6:00 a.m.
Start/Finish Point: Macau Stadium, Taipa
A total of 580 runners participates in the Marathon and 1171 runners registered in this year half Marathon.

18 athletes for the men's marathon were invited to participate this year, namely Hu Kajiun from China, Ri Kum Song and Ryo Pong Hyok from North Korea, António Sousa and Vasco Azevedo from Portugal, Joseph Kadon Epetet from Kenya, Mykhail Iveruk from the Ukrain, Yemane Tsegay Adhane from Ethiopia, Philip Bandawe from Zimbabwe and Lok Wai Kin from Macau.

Organisers invited Xu Yuzong from China, Jong Yong Ok e Kim Kum Ok from North Korea, Abeba Tola Eda from Ethiopia, Edyta Lewandoska from Poland, Natalya Volgina from Russia, Kristijna Loonen from the Netherlands and Leong Lai Heong from Macau in the women's category.

Yemane Tsegay Adhane from Ethiopia, won this year's Marathon and finishing the race in a record time of 2:15:06. He took home a total of 3 prizes for winning the marathon, breaking the record and a bonus prize, all were valued up to US$23,000 dollar. China's Yuan Lili finished the race first with a time of 2:36:40. She was also awarded a bonus prize, all of which she took home $US18,000 dollar.

This year, the second season of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) - began on 1st September with an event in Macau will be held at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino in Macau as the first of five stops planned for the tour. The buy-in to this Macau Main Event is $25000 (which is about $3,200 U.S. Dollars). A $150,000 High Roller tournament is also part of this APPT event in Macau, which will be held from September 7-9. The buy-in for the Main Event closes at 1:30pm local time on 1st September Wednesday afternoon and it generated over 400 entrants. Tournament officials hope to make it as one of the largest poker tournaments ever held in Asia. The total prize pool of approximately USD$1.62 million is the largest in Asian history.

Some of the notables players who were unable to survive before the final table include David Chiu, Quinn Do, John Juanda.

The 9 players who will play for the APPT final table set in the Asia Pacific Poker Tour’s Macau tournament have been determined. 9 players are all from different countries - Diwei “Bryan” Huang (1,046,000 in chips from Singapore), Eddie Sabat (1,001,000 in chips from California), Jeppe Drivsholm (863,000 in chips from Denmark), Tian Chen (768,000 in chips from Beijing), Charles Chua (617,000 in chips from Malaysia), Mikael Rosen (361,000 in chips from Sweden), Kuok Wai Will Cheong (334,000 in chips from Macau - a 28 year old local who works in the casino), Javed Abrahams (215,000 in chips from London) and So Myung Sim (118,000 in chips from Seoul).

Eddie Sabat has won 1st prize at APPT Macau - The 22nd years old American Edward Sabat was the youngest player ever to make the APPT Macau final table. He has survive a field of 538 players that included some of the best known names in the global game. Sabat had an excellent starting situation on the final table game, but he had to endure several ups and down, before he was able to pick up the win bonus against Charles Chua from Malaysia. Chua started into the final of the last two as chip leader and already had to concede the lead in the first hand. Before Sabat was determined as the winner, the chip lead switched several times.

The APPT Season 2 High Rollers Event in Macau has been won by Nam Le from the USA, who beat Andrew Scott to the top prize in a final table showdown and has won the first prize of approx USD$474,378.

Asia’s richest tournament, the Asian Poker Tour Macau will begin today on 27 August, this event will run from August 27 to 31 and is being held at the StarWorld casino, following the welcome reception and satellite tournaments yesterday. This year the APT Macau will offer US$1.5 million in prize and the first prize also guaranteed a prize at US$500,000. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps is also invited to Play Poker at this APT Macau Event. He will get that chance to meet some of the big names in the poker world if he takes up the APT's invitation.

20-year-old Yevgeniy Timoshenk from the United States of Ukrainian descent has won the 2008 APT Macau at the glamourous Galaxy StarWorld. Chris Parker - CEO of the Asian Poker Tour congratulated Timoshenko at a wildly colorful closing ceremony. He then made a draw that gave away one free seat to the next event for one lucky player, who had pre-registered for the tournament on official website.

The second casino to embrace Texas Hold'em poker in Macau, Grand Waldo Casino will open a dedicated room on the mezzanine level for this card game. The room is capable for six cash tables and capacity for 110 tournament players.

The casino will also partner with PokerStars to run weekend tournaments leading up to the Macau leg of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) this September.

The Grand Lisboa was the first casino to introduce Texas Hold'em on Jan this year.
