Oceanus Project Cancelled 海神綜合中心項目計劃取消 (海神综合中心项目计划取消)

Stanley Ho decide not to construct the Oceanus project. It will be a replace by a smaller scale development, and this will not be affect by the government announcement of a freeze on new casinos since the application for the new development has already been submitted with the government.

“I Stanley Ho will not agree with the Oceanus project, I think too big, too much, we can not operate such a huge project involving so many factors,” Stanley Ho said.

“It may be a good idea from the start but it doesn't work, I am giving up this project and I think the government is supporting me 100 percent.”

The current site of Jai Alai casino and New Yaohan department store will be redevelop shortly, and construction expected to begin as early as June when the New Yaohan move to the new site near Nam Van Lake.

Marriott Vacation Club International acquires the Buckingham 萬豪國際度假會斥資2.5億元購入氹仔皇族 (万豪国际度假会斥资2.5亿元购入氹仔皇族)

The Buckingham, a project located at Taipa, recently struck an institutional deal with a Luxury hotel group - Marriott Vacation Club International which has agreed to purchase 5 consecutive floors comprising 30 units of the property. Marriott Vacation Club International will be turned into timeshare vacation homes for its members.

"It is the first time for a hotel chain to buy flats (in Macau) and rent them out to club members as short-term holiday homes", said Jeff Wong, head of residential sales at Jones Lang LaSalle.

Macau to stop gambling expansion 澳門限制博彩業發展 (澳门限制博彩业发展)

Macau's Chief Executive Edmund Ho announce to stop granting new gaming licences and the construction of new casinos, government will not approve new applications for land use filed by gaming companies due to some of the locals protest that casino boom has not benefited the wider society and much of the profits have been sent abroad to foreign operators. The number of gaming licences in Macau would be capped at six, but the gaming constructions that are already underway or in discussion would not be affected. Moreover, slot machines will need to be remove away from the densely-populated districts.

According to statistics from the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau, there are currently 29 casinos with more than 4,300 gaming tables in operation in Macau.

US casino giants Las Vegas Sands, Wynn Resorts and MGM Mirage share price have increase by 9%, 7% and 3.4% on Tuesday.

Every permanent resident and non-permanent resident of Macau will receive a one-time government subsidy of $5,000MOP and $3,000MOP before July the latest, due to the influences of growing living costs and the rise of inflation. SAR government would spend about $2 billion MOP on the subsidies, giving the money to the eligible 527,000 Macau Identity Card holders, which include 67,000 residents who are studying or living aboard.

澳門大發紅包，近年博彩收益大增，特區政府決定把結餘當成紅利和人民共享。特首何厚鏵宣布將發給每位永久居民五千元澳門幣回饋居民, 爭取在今年7月份實施。現時持澳門智慧身份證的52.7萬名居民中，有46.1萬人是永久居民，6.6萬人是非永久居民, 這52萬 (包括6.7萬名在海外居住或留學的澳門居民) 持證人全都可以獲發這筆紅利，澳門政府將會支出20億元, 以緩解高通脹給市民帶來的壓力。

This year Macau International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition will be held at the Venetian Convention and Exhibition Center, hosted by the Macau SAR. The aim is to position Macau as a regional platform for environmental protection industries, with specific interests to facilitate co-operations between European environmental protection companies and various provinces of Mainland China.

The forum will be last for two days from 23rd until 24th April, and the forum theme for this year is 'Water, Energy and Sustainable Development'. Forum Topics include International Co-operation, Energy Saving & Emission Reduction, Efficient Use and Treatment of Water, Intelligent/ Eco City and Sustainable Transportation.

開業40年的沙利文餐廳是第一代在澳門開設的葡國餐館, 過往歷代澳督及澳門特首何厚鏵都是常客。 沙利文四十多年來都只做地道的澳門菜。 這裏堅持只用植物油, 因為大廚對出品的品質要求嚴謹, 所以客人至今還能在餐廳中嚐到二、三十年前嚐到的滋味。
