Archaic Chinese Arts has move its location from the Landmark Hotel in Macau to the Shoppes at Four Seasons. The new Archaic Chinese Arts gallery at The Shoppes at Four Seasons will house more than twenty pieces of bronze, gold, silver, jade, potteries and other works of art displayed in the gallery. Most bronze exhibits were made in the period of late Shang dynasty and Western Zhou.

Archaic Chinese Arts was first founded in early 2004. The founder Mr. Chi Kai Lai is a well-known collector with nearly 30 years of rich experience in collections and owns more than a hundred fine collections.

After traveling to countries like Britain, South Africa, Singapore, Dubai and Thailand, the International Indian Film Academy will be taking Indian films and its annual award ceremony at the Venetian Macau this year, on the 12nd June. IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan and government representatives of Macau were present when the announcement was made.

The organisers of the event - Wizcraft International Entertainment, are promising to bring a whole set of surprises in this IIFA. This year the IIFA awards night will be hosted by Abhishek Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh.

"2009 celebrates a decade of IIFA magic and promises to be yet another enthralling experience to be held at the Venetian Macau. It is an excellent choice for IIFA's celebrations and we are excited to bring its magic to that fabulous city," said Amitabh Bachchan, the IIFA brand ambassador. Apart from the award function, fashion extravaganza and business forum would be the other highlights of this event.

The IIFA Weekend is expected to attract more than 500 luminaries from the Indian film industry. Amongst famous Bollywood personalities present at the event were Sholay maker Ramesh Sippy and Manmohan Shetty. The event was launched in 2000 to promote Indian cinema globally, since then it has traveled to nine countries in three continents.

Melco unveils new Altira brand 皇冠正式易名新濠鋒 (皇冠正式易名新濠锋)

Melco Crown Entertainment has announced the rebranding of its Taipa property Crown Macau to Altira Macau. Melco Crown Entertainment co-chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho and Altira Macau president Ted Chan, introduced the new Altira Macau brand in a logo unveiling ceremony.

The rebranding was to distinguish the market positioning of the firm’s City of Dreams complex in Cotai. This replacement represents a new brand of gaming - uniquely Asian-oriented high roller gaming and entertainment concept, and hospitality service concept. As this will strengthen the Company's existing portfolio of globally recognized and respected brands in the gaming and hospitality sectors.

The name Altira derives from the Latin word ‘altus’, meaning “high”, whilst its Chinese name means “cutting edge”, representing an outstanding service proposition for the Asian high roller gaming market.

The Crown branding is to be used for the new City of Dreams development, which is scheduled to open in June.

A Sadler’s Wells Production - "Sutra" at Macau Arts Festival 藝術節獻演 - 西迪．拉比．切克歐與少林武僧"舞箴" (艺术节献演 - 西迪．拉比．切克欧与少林武僧"舞箴")

Celebrated Flemish/Moroccan choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, presents a brand new dance work inspired by the skill, strength and spirituality of Buddhist Shaolin monks.

Cherkaoui collaborated closely with Turner Prize-winning English sculptor Antony Gormley, who devised a design consisting of 21 wooden boxes, repositioned throughout the performance to create a striking, ever-changing on-stage environment. Polish composer Szymon Brzóska penned a beautiful, original score for piano, percussion and strings which is played live.

"Poker King" Movie Press Conference was held at Macau StarWorld Hotel and Casino on the 24th April. Hong Kong stars Sean Lau, Louis Koo, Cherrie Ying and Josie Ho attended the event and met the press.

They were playing with each other at Texas Hold’em Poker during the press conference to practice their card skills.

Texas Hold’em Poker is one of the most popular poker game in the casinos and poker card rooms, especially popular in across North America and Europe.

劉青雲及古天樂將在《撲克王》中飾演兩大撲克高手, 他們為了爭奪王者寶座, 有多場激烈的對戰場面。 而何超儀則飾演女賭王, 在戲內擁有一個龐大的博彩業王國。 鄧麗欣則擺脫一貫清純形象扮演嗜賭女人一角。 至於應採兒就扮演顛到眾生的網上撲克女神。 而谷祖琳和Kama則分別飾演保鑣和派牌員。

「德州撲克」被視為一種有益身心與鬥智鬥力的運動項目, 在外國經已發展了幾十年, 世界各地經常舉行比賽較量。

Macau Dragon offer ferry service between Hong Kong and Macau first half of 2009 巨龍船務有信心上半年開航 (巨龙船务有信心上半年开航)

A new start-up ferry company - Macau Dragon Company Limited, a subsidiary of Giant Dragon Sea Transportation Company will be offering services between the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal in the first half of 2009. There was no indication of commencement date.

The Macau Dragon fleet consists of 4 vessels, one of the vessel has already arrived in Hong Kong. Each of the vessels can accommodate up to 1,200 passengers. It will be operate the same route as the CotaiJet service from HK Macau Ferry Terminal on Hong Kong Island to Pac On Temporary Pier on the Cotai Strip in Macau.


巨龍船務股份有限公司透露已全部完成香港的審批程序, 有信心2009年上半年開航。 但沒有具體時間表。 正等候澳門政府最後審批。 澳門港務局稱特區政府會審慎審批巨龍航線, 隨著社會變化及經濟高速發展, 未來海上客運航線的審批會從公衆安全角度考慮。 現階段不可能引入太多航線, 待2012年氹仔北安永久碼頭落成啟用後便能容納更多航線。

巨龍表示雖然遇上金融海嘯, 仍對港澳海上客運市場有信心, 因此希望可以盡快開航帶動澳門的經濟發展。 目前巨龍已購入4艘, 載客量為1200人的客船經營港澳航線, 其中一艘已運抵香港。

University of Macau awards George Bush Doctor of Social Sciences Honoris Causa 美前總統老布殊獲澳大授榮譽博士學位 (美前总统老布殊获澳大授荣誉博士学位)

The former president of the United States George Bush was awarded Doctor of Social Sciences Honoris Causa by the University of Macau, at the Texas A and M University in US. The proposal was approved by the University Senate and by the Macau Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah. The ceremony was attended by more than 100 guests and students.

This is in recognition for his outstanding contributions to the Sino-American relations. Bush was conferred by Tse Chi Wai, Chair of the University Council of UM on the ceremony. According to the Portuguese-language newspaper in Macau - Ponto Final, the initiative to award George Bush Honoris Causa was from the rector of the University of Macau, Wei Zhao, who knows the former President personally as he had been a teacher at a University in Texas.

According to a statement from the University, professor Wei Zhao praised Bush for being a “pioneer in the normalisation of the Sino-American relations” – which celebrated its 30th anniversary – and was chief of the US Liaison Office in the People's Republic of China from 1974 to 1975 being the first US official representative to China. He also paid frequent visits to China in his efforts to promote Sino-American relations. Bush has played a significant role in the normalisation of the Sino-American relations and helped the bilateral relationship between China and the US to reach a new height.

George Bush was President of the United Sates between 1988 and 1992 after being in the vice-presidency, during the Ronald Reagan administration in the White House.

Mini Fans Club to hold parade on May 1 迷你車「五一」巡遊及同樂日活動 (迷你车「五一」巡遊及同乐日活动)

The Macau Mini Fans Club along with other institutions and associations are organizing the “Mini 10 Fun Happy Day” carnival on May 1. This carnival will take place at the Taipa Houses Museum. Other celebratory activities including a music concert, matching of a giant jigsaw puzzle, photo contest and competitive booth games will be held at the same time.

Other than the carnival, the highlight program is the Mini parade, which will drive pass 10 landmarks in Macau, starting from Avenida da Praia. These include the Macau Stadium, Macau Tower, St. Paul Ruins, Camoes Garden, Golden Lotus Square, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, Kun Iam Statue and the East Asian Games Dome.

The City of Dreams is scheduled to open in the first half of 2009. The first multimedia show to occupy The Bubble at City of Dreams is the "Dragon's Treasure".

This 10-minute immersive multimedia experience is designed by a former leading member of Canada's Cirque du Soleil circus group. The show will transport audiences on a sensory journey to each of their respective aquatic kingdoms of ice, tropics, volcanic and solar entities. It is about the story of the Dragon Pearl and its mysterious powers as experienced by four Dragon Kings.

The show has been created based on incorporating eastern philosophy and Chinese mythology. It combines high-definition video content, a sweeping musical score, over 29,000 theatrical LED lights and a variety of sensory effects.


新濠博亞娛樂在澳門的第二個大型綜合酒店項目, 綜合娛樂度假區「新濠天地」今年6月開幕。 新濠博亞從而成為今年澳門開業的最大型綜合酒店, 行政總裁何猷龍對澳門市場充滿信心。 娛樂場佔地面積42萬平方呎, 設有約520張賭桌及1350台「老虎機」。 賭場位於1樓及2樓, 兩層的主題各有不同, 合共有376張中場檯, 146張貴賓檯。

經營新濠天地的新濠博亞娛樂, 在新濠天地圓拱形劇院「天幕」上將演立體投影節目《龍騰》, 讓觀眾感受飛龍奇幻旅程。 項目聘請美國娛樂集團Falcon's Treehouse製作長達10分鐘《龍騰》, 酒店率先在天幕播放約1分鐘投影節目。 片中描繪4條飛龍, 分別穿梭冰川、雨林、火山及太陽系。 飛龍及其他海洋生物如鯨魚和水母, 盡現眼前沿着圓拱形天幕游動如同圍繞觀眾移動。 飛龍將在節目開始的一瞬間, 快速繞了一圈。 4條飛龍王齊心護送龍珠, 當中更能感受龍珠的神秘力量。

360度天幕劇院位於酒店地下, 院內裝設15部高清投影器, 安裝了120個揚聲器及逾2.9萬發光二極管（LED）燈營造各種視聽效果。 劇院可容納約500人, 每小時將播放兩場《龍騰》。 新濠博亞表示《龍騰》將放映一段時間, 觀眾須持票入場, 觀眾每次觀賞時站於劇院不同位置都會有不同感受。

除了天幕, 度假區第一期項目的皇冠度假酒店及Hard Rock Hotel的客房亦大致完成, 但賭場及大部分度假區大堂的裝修仍在趕工。 項目共分三期, 第三期則在2010年落成。 三期完成後項目將佔地面積達11萬平方米, 總投資21億美元。

Organisized by the Asia Pacific Financial Services Association, the 11th Asia Pacific Life Insurance Council (APLIC) Congress will be held in Macau on 15th and 16th April. This is the largest insurance conference held in the region.

Construction of Ocean World in Hengqin island to start in December 橫琴島將於今年12月建設海洋世界 (横琴岛将於今年12月建设海洋世界)

The construction of a 143-hectare Ocean World in Hengqin island is due to begin this December after passed its preliminary environmental impact assessment. Preparation work is under way for a more detailed environmental study before construction start off. The project is expected to be completed in 2012.

The largest Ocean World in Asia will consist of an ocean circus, night safari, conventional centre, hotels and residential buildings. It will apparently be developed in several phases.

A Zhuhai Chime-Long investment company plans to invest up to US$430 million in the park. Chime-Long Group is a theme park conglomerate, which headquarter based in Guangzhou's Panyu district.

毗鄰澳門的珠海橫琴島143公頃海洋世界項目通過初步環境影響評估之后, 將於今年12月開始建設。 珠海長隆海洋世界將是亞洲最大的海洋樂園。 建設地點為珠海橫琴富祥灣, 公園內包括海洋主題樂園, 國際海洋世界, 戶外休閑娛樂設施等。 此項目將分若干階段開發。 首期工程總佔地面積為143萬平方米, 總建築面積120.45萬平方米。

為了開展更詳細的環境研究, 項目啟動之前正在進行一些准備工作。 此項目有望於2012年之前竣工。 珠海長隆投資發展有限公司計劃投資4.3億美元。

海洋世界的整個項目總佔地達五平方公里, 擬建成亞洲最大的集會展、遊樂、酒店度假等於一體的綜合性海洋樂園。

2nd World Heritage Travel Expo held in Macau 第二屆世界遺產旅遊博覽會11月澳門舉行 (第二届世界遗产旅遊博览会11月澳门举行)

Organize by Organizing Committee of World Heritage Travel Expo, The 2nd World Heritage Travel Expo will be held at the Venetain Macau Conventional Center from 12nd Nov to 14th Nov. The 2009 Supermodel of the World Contest (China Region) will be held in Macau this coming May. A total of 42 contestants will participate in this contest and the winners will take part in the finals representing China region.

Supermodel of the World is the biggest modeling contest in the world. Established by Eileen Ford in 1980, it searches the pre-eminent female model in over 50 countries to find fashion's newest faces year after year.

Preliminary plan for University of Macau Hengqin Campus 澳門大學珠海橫琴建新校區 (澳门大学珠海横琴建新校区)

The University of Macau was presenting the preliminary conception of the establishment of a new campus in Hengqing Island, to the Legislative Assembly and representatives of the Chinese Educators Association of Macau, the Union of Catholic Schools of Macau, as well as principals and teachers of secondary schools.

The university also officially released a statement to express that Hengqin Island is an “ideal” place for a new campus, to cope with its development plan mentioned in the university's 10-Year Development Strategy established in January 2007. University of Macau was setting a goal of expansion to accommodate 10,000 students.

The new campus with the planned location on the eastern coast of the Hengqin Island will occupies an area of 1.0 to 1.4 square km. This will bring benefits for the long term development of the institution. The campus can cater for 6 to 9 faculties, 8 to 10 residential colleges, 2 to 4 open scientific research bases thus offering an excellent academic environment and increased research facilities to the staff and students.

University of Macau proposes to keep the present campus, this is to maintain the existing close ties between the university and the larger community.

澳門大學預計在珠海橫琴島東部落實建新校區。 澳門大學校董會表示, 澳大新校區預計將在與澳門一水之隔的珠海橫琴島東部, 橫琴校區的土地面積約一至一點四平方公里, 預計建築面積約100萬平方米, 是澳大現址的20倍。

澳大希望在校園管理方面最大程度「澳門化」, 例如信息自由, 初步構想是可使用澳門或珠海的網絡。

橫琴校園將設置六到九個學院, 以達致澳門大學最終規劃規模為一萬五千人的目標。 澳大強調希望擴建後的澳門大學, 能成為澳門人首選的大學, 也能成為大中華區學生和家長首選的大學之一。

Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) 2009 - 亞洲國際博彩博覽會6月舉行 (亚洲国际博彩博览会6月举行)

Macau Business CEO, partner of G2E Asia Expo, announced that Macau gaming industry pioneer Stanley Ho has been awarded with the G2E Asia Visionary Award. This year, the Global Gaming Expo Asia will take place between June 2-4, at the Venetian Macau. The G2E Asia Visionary Award recognizes leaders who have contributed to the success and expansion of the thriving Asian gaming entertainment market.

This Visionary Award recognizes Stanley Ho's key-role in Macau's gaming market growth and success. Paulo Azevedo said Stanley Ho has shaped Macau, helped the infrastructure growth, being at the same time the second largest employer after the government. Ho expressed his gratitude for the award in a video message and said he was honoured to be awarded the G2E Asia Visionary Award. This award affirms what he has done over the years for Macau's gaming business and for the overall community.

G2E Asia is the largest gaming event in Asia. It was first held in 2007 in Macau, organised by Reed Exhibitions and the American Gaming Association (AGA).

澳門首部本土電影《奧戈的故事》開鏡 (澳门首部本土电影《奥戈的故事》开镜)

由澳門基金會及內地葡萄牙投資方聯合出資, 澳門、香港、內地演員主演的首部澳門本土電影《奧戈的故事》, 4月7日在望德堂瘋堂十號“創意園”舉行開鏡儀式。 內地新生代導演張馳執導, 澳門演員古天祥, 香港演員吳嘉龍, 內地演員王曉擔任主演。 《奧戈的故事》計劃拍攝四十五天, 八成外景在澳門拍攝, 其余內容在葡萄牙里斯本和廣東中山拍攝。

《奧戈的故事》藍本取自其獲奬短篇小說《奧戈的幻覺世界》, 劇情以1999年澳門回歸前幾個月一個澳門土生葡人青年的彷徨和選擇為主線, 務求反映當時時空下真實的澳門和真實的澳門人。 故事將在今年澳門回歸十周年慶典前推出, 並將在全國以及海外影院上映。

編劇廖子馨表示《奧戈的故事》小說1998年寫成並發表, 2003年還被翻譯成法文在歐洲出版。 該片籌備前后花了三年, 她期待該片有機會參加國際性電影節向世界展示澳門風情。

Crown Towers Taipa will change its name to Altira. The Macau Government Tourist Office now has "Crown Towers Taipa" listed as "Altira".

新濠博亞聯席主席兼行政總裁何猷龍曾表示, 為區別皇冠酒店與新濠天地市場定位, 皇冠酒店將重新命名。

雖然新濠博亞對皇冠酒店新名字一直沒有對外公佈, 但澳門旅遊局網站上皇冠酒店已改名“新濠鋒”, 網站上圖片是皇冠酒店外貌, 相信皇冠酒店易名“新濠鋒”無疑。

皇冠酒店近日酒店已拆下原名為安裝新名作準備。 改名後的新濠鋒, 定位亞洲區貴賓客, 與新濠天地走綜合發展定位不同, 集團月底將公佈澳門皇冠未來的發展策略。



新濠鋒口號亦有調整。 原皇冠口號由“六星級禮遇”改成“以您為尊”, 因亞洲貴賓客有各自文化, 背景, 要深入照顧每個貴賓客不同的文化及習俗。

新英文名“Altira”沿自拉丁語“Altus”, 代表“高”的意思。 為配合這個英文名字酒店選擇新濠鋒作為中文名。 “鋒”有銳利的意思, 代表新濠鋒擁有銳利目光, 把亞洲貴賓式休閒娛樂體驗帶進澳門。

Melco Crown Entertainment (MPEL) announced that City of Dreams, its flagship entertainment resort property in Macau, will open on June. City of Dreams is a US$2.1 billion mega resort situated on the Cotai Strip. The resort is set to offer a variety of entertainment options for visitors in addition to the usual gaming component.

City of Dream will house 4 hotels, over 20 dining venues, a 2-level retail space with DFS as the major tenant, a theatre, a giant silver dome offering a simulated underwater experience, as well as a casino with 550 gaming tables and 1,500 slot machines.

"We're fortunate that we had raised and secured all the funds we needed between 2006 and 2007. The successful financing has placed us in a relatively prime position," Lawrence Ho, Co-chairman and CEO of Melco Crown Entertainment said.

新濠國際於業績報告中指出, 其於澳門的旗艦項目新濠天地已屆最後發展階段, 預計於09年6月初開業。

而經仔細規劃後，新濠國際能夠在金融市場崩盤前為項目取得足夠資金, 所需的資金皆已到位, 項目開支符合預算, 新濠天地並將成為2009年內澳門唯一的新酒店及娛樂場項目。

Hong Kong pop star Jacky Cheung, donated a guitar and two outfits sequined sweaters, one of which came with a white bow tie to the upcoming Hard Rock Hotel Macau. The inclusion of Cheung's guitar and clothes in the memorabilia collection reflects the Hard Rock Hotel's desire to appeal to a broader Asian market. The 300-room Hard Rock Hotel Macau, will be part of the City of Dreams casino-hotel complex scheduled to open in June this year.

Jacky Cheung becoming the first ethnic Chinese musician to contribute items to the Hard Rock memorabilia collection. He is one of the biggest acts in the idol-driven Chinese language pop scene.

「Hard Rock珍藏品系列」展品將於六月開幕的澳門Hard Rock酒店內展出, 以往都是邀請外籍紅星捐出收藏品展覽。 但這次就邀請了張學友捐收藏品展覽。 他將捐出包括他在1999年完成“友個人世界巡迴演唱會”時所用的結他, 和2007至2008年“學友光年世界巡迴演唱會”時着過的兩套珠片表演服, 及金屬鏈圍巾。 張學友表示他最鍾情那支木結他, 因為他創作的九成歌曲是借助這支木結他創作的, 很多靈感也來源於這支木結他。

Hard Rock珍藏品系列一直被視為世界上最高價值的收藏品之一。 不少世界級頂尖音樂人的珍藏品, 透過捐獻及拍賣等形式先後成為Hard Rock珍藏品系列, 至今收藏在各地Hard Rock酒店的巨星音樂珍藏超過七萬件。
