Starting from 29th March 2009, Air Macau will increase flight frequency between Macau and Seoul from 4 flights per week to 1 flight per day.

South Korea was the 7th biggest visitor market to Macau, with close to 280,000 visitors. The number of visitors from Korea has increased in the past few years. Macau Government Tourist Office representative in Korea are actively reinforces promotion to boost higher number of visitors coming to Macau.

去年有超過28萬韓國遊客來澳門觀光, 在澳門十大客源市場中, 排行第7位。 近年澳門與韓國之間居民互訪及旅遊人數正不斷增加。 澳門旅遊局亦積極拓展韓國遊客市場, 估計今年來澳韓客仍持續增長。

2009 Macau International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition 澳門將舉行國際環保合作發展論壇及展覽 (澳门将举行国际环保合作发展论坛及展览)

2009 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) will be held at the Venetian Macau from 2nd to 4th April. Rising to the global drive for environmental sustainability, this event will spearheads and promotes greater local and international green co-operation in environment, business and connection. The Organising Committee of MIECF says by organizing this year event, it hopes to promote and enhance Macau's status in terms of global environmental protection and bring business opportunities to all the participating enterprises and institutions.

This event will gathers by distinguished officials, experts and scholars in the field of environmental protection, which will draw delegations with more than 1,000 representatives to discuss the latest green issues.

This year, the theme of 2009 MIECF is “A Global Green Gathering, Environment-Business-Connection.” The target is to promote leading a green life and social responsibility of protecting the environment.

為配合國際環保主題, 環境委員會將在4月3日早上舉行以“節能減排及碳交易”及“自然災害管理”為主題的兩個研討會, 並已邀請多個外地、歐盟及內地主管部門官員及專家學者主講。 在“節能減排及碳交易研討會”上, 與會者將討論以節能減排, 發展低碳經濟對抗全球氣候變暖, 確保人類社會持續發展等21世紀全人類焦點議題。 而“自然災害管理研討會”則透過專家學者分享他們對危機處理及自然防災工作的經驗與看法。

Macao's GDP grows 13.2% in 2008 amid global financial crisis 澳門去年生產總值增長百分之十三 (澳门去年生产总值增长百分之十三)

Macau's economy sustained rapid growth in 2008, as its GDP rose by 13.2 percent year-on-year in real terms although negative growth did occur in the fourth quarter. Despite the global financial crisis, Macau still recorded the strong economic growth in the first half of last year, which brought Macau's GDP for the whole year 2008 to an estimated amount of MOP $171.87 billion (equivalent to US$21.8 billion dollars), and brings up 13.2 percent year-on-year in real terms.

Macau’s economic growth was driven by an increase in gross gaming and gambling revenues (excluding gratuities). It surged by 31 percent year-on-year in 2008, while total visitor arrivals exceeded 22 million, with total visitor spending (excluding gaming expenses) registering a 2.2 percent growth in real terms. Private spending rose 7.5 percent due to a rise in the employed population and salaries.


據澳門統計暨普查局公佈的資料, 2008年澳門本地生產總值(GDP)實質增長率為13.2%。

去年澳門本地生產總值為1718億澳門元, 實質增長率為13.2%, 人均本地生產總值為31萬澳門元(約3萬9千美元)。 去年全年博彩毛收入上升31%, 旅客非博彩消費、居民私人消費均有所上升, 成為全年GDP增長的支撐因素。 全年入境旅客有22,907,724人次, 較2007年實質上升2.2%。

二00八年澳門本地生產總值呈逐季下跌態勢, 第一到第三季度分別為百分之三十二、百分之二十二、百分之十，第四季GDP受到博彩服務出口、投資及貨物出口同時下跌的影響下，錄得百分之七點六的實質跌幅，是近五年來首次的季度負增長。

儘管環球經濟急速變壞, 但在博彩旅遊業快速發展的推動下澳門經濟在去年上半年仍未受到太大的衝擊, 踏入下半年受金融危機及來澳內地個人游旅客減少的影響逐漸浮現, 博彩旅遊業增長開始放緩, 整體投資持續下跌, 致使經濟明顯收縮。

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau said it will begin the construction of Taipa Central Park and the underground parking facilities at the second quarter of 2009.

The construction work includes the building of an artificial lake. This lake will serve as a swimming pool in the summer, and will become a scenic lake during non-swimming seasons. Other facilities built include a jogging route, a sheltered recreation area, gym area, a pet area and a children recreation area in order to meet the needs of Taipa’s rising population. The reading room which was planned previously, will be replace by a library with a site area of 2,200 square meters.

為配合氹仔新城區的持續發展以及增加區內的休憩設施和泊車空間, 土地工務運輸局將於2009年第二季, 動工興建氹仔成都街地下停車場及中央公園。

工程包括位於氹仔成都街及哥英布拉街之間, 佔地約2.8萬平方米地段將建造兩層地下停車場, 公共圖書館及地面的公園設施等。 公園內的人工湖夏季為泳池, 在非泳季則變為景觀池, 務求達到資源的善用。 公園其他公共設設施還包括： 設有林蔭步道, 乘涼休憩區及涼亭, 環園跑步徑, 健身設施區, 寵物活動區, 兒童遊戲區, 強身運動區, 露天綜合球場等, 以迎合氹仔人口不斷上升而增加對公共設施的需求。 原設計的閱覽室已改為面積較大的圖書館, 設於地庫一層, 建築面積約2,200平方米。

The France-Macau Business Association (FMBA) celebrated the opening of their office at the Macau Business Support Centre. The association will serve as a platform for information exchange and multi-dimensional support to line up business entities and interests, maintain a working relationship with the respective authorities and trade commissions from Macau, France and Hong Kong.

FMBA chairperson Pansy Ho said the main objective to open the office is to bring Macau and France closer and connect both country and region through the association's activities and programs. France-Macau Business Association (FMBA) was founded in October 2007.

The Macau Government is drafting a proposal to roll out Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the whole city. The Information Technology Development Division has revealed that the proposal will be announced in due course.

The Office has appointed a consulting firm to study on the way and mode of region-wide Wi-Fi Internet service.

A famous local shopping center 'Sun Star City', located at downtown Macau is now undergoing a total makeover. This renovation work will affect the entire shopping center. The purpose of the renovation is aim to develop the shopping center's identity and make it a sociable place.

The extension of the shopping mall calls for the creation of 80 new stores and the addition 4 levels of shopping spaces, with retailers specializing in female personal products, beauty and services on the 1st to 5th floors. Men's clothing on the 6th floor, gift shops on the 7th floor and a food court on the 8th floor.

Construction works were progressing well, the project will be finish after September this year. Sun Star City will offer its patrons a brand-new face after the extension and a comprehensive renovation.

有公司於2008年底, “豪擲”兩億購買中區信達城商場1至10樓業權, 把原來信達城商場上蓋部分寫字樓層改裝為商場。 今年9月以後信達城商場將由4層“增高”至8層, 並提供多80個舖位。 租戶對重整計劃信心十足, 已落訂“包起”四樓全層。 外界反應亦相當踴躍, 現時4至8樓共80個舖租已接到180個申請。

發展公司說, 選擇新租戶的條件以其經營資歷, 品牌, 店舖特色為主要考慮因素。

Macau is now proposing to build a high-speed wireless broadband network covering the whole city. The plan will be announce shortly. Recently, a seminar was held by the Bureau of Telecommunications Regulation and Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, to teach everyone the basic knowledge about wireless internet technologies and wireless network securities.

The new album 'Tune to the heart', created by a group of young local artists in Macau is now released.

This CD is all made entirely in Macau, with over 100 local creative artists working together to express their feelings for Macau through music, writing, design and video. The eight-track CD tackles issues from traffic to gambling, through Rap, R&B, Rock, Pop and Pure Music which reflects the local lifestyle and sentiments of Macau people.

Each of the 8 songs is further presented in the artbook "Enter the Mind" visually via illustrations, comics, novel, poetry, prose and photography etc.

PokerStars hosted a grand opening of PokerStars Macau at Grand Lisboa on the 19th March. The room on the second floor of the famous Grand Lisboa hotel in Macau will be the biggest poker room in Asia. PokerStars Macau will hold 22 tables for tourney action and 24-hour cash games.

More than 334,000 credit cards circulated in Macau 澳門發行個人信用卡逾33萬張 (澳门发行个人信用卡逾33万张)

According to the Monetary Authority of Macau (AMM), At the end of December 2008, the total number of personal credit cards in circulation reached 334,676, up 4.54% compare to the previous quarter.

For the fourth quarter of 2008 the number of credit card in Patacas, Hong Kong dollars and Renminbi were 271,401 (Up 5.68% qoq), 54,772 (down 0.47% qoq)and 8,503 (Up 2.3% qoq) respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the number of Pataca and Renminbi cards grew 4.27% and 17.14% respectively, whereas Hong Kong cards dropped 14.98%.

澳門金融管理局公布截至2008年12月底, 澳門直接或間接發行的個人信用卡共有33.4萬餘張, 其中澳門元卡27.1萬餘張, 港元卡５.４萬餘張及人民幣卡8500餘張。 2008年第四季澳門信用卡簽帳總額共16.1億澳門元, 較上季增加3.53％, 經澳門認可機構核發的信用卡信用額為59.4億澳門元, 較上季增加1.24％, 包括利息及費用在內的還款額合共15.7億澳門元。

Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, will offer vouchers to people in Macau worth a total of RMB $1.5million to attract domestic tourists from Macau. The move is part of a plan to boost consumption. Visitors to Hangzhou can get a 25% discount at hotels, tourist sites and teahouses from March 1 to May 31 with coupons.

University of Macau will offer three new master degree programs in the coming academic year.

The University of Macau (UM) will offer 3 new Master’s Degree Programs to nurture talents in different disciplines initiated this year, namely Master of Science in Finance, Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and Human Development and Master of Arts in International Relations and Public Policy.

The Master of Science in Finance aims to meet the need for more advanced level professionals in finance. It is a way for students to prepare and take certification of their skills in the field such as Chartered Finance Analysis (CFA) or Certified Financial Planners (CFP).

The newly added Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and Human Development demonstrates to meet the global development of early childhood education.

The Master of Arts in International Relations and Public Policy is mainly to nurture talents in the areas of public administration and international relations.

The University of Macau Master's Degree and Postgraduate Certificate Programs are now open for application until April 24th. Applicants can complete the online registration on UM’s webpage http://www.umac.mo for the application of postgraduate studentship.

MGM Grand Macau presents '1812' wine at Rossio restaurant 美高梅金殿獻新釀葡萄酒「1812」絕品佳釀 (美高梅金殿献新酿葡萄酒「1812」绝品佳酿)

A lunch gathering was held at the MGM Grand Macau on the 13th March, with Wine producer Luis Pato presented in Macau the '1812' wine at the Macau Rossio restaurant. The '1812' wine is made exclusively for the MGM Grand Macau. The name of the wine respresented the inauguration date of the hotel, December 18, 2007.

The '1812' is a wine "with a mix of complexity, elegance and concentration".

From 10th March through 25th March, the wine will be serve at Rossio restaurant and the open plaza with traditional Portuguese cooking styles.

澳門美高梅金殿酒店於3月13日在盛事餐廳舉行品酒午宴, 介紹最新釀製的“1812”葡萄酒。 酒店特別邀請了葡萄牙著名釀酒師Luis Pato親自向賓客介紹該酒特色。 帕托表示該葡萄酒經過十四至十八個月的悉心釀製, 除了用葡萄牙餐後甜酒用的“Touriga Nacional”葡萄外, 還加上“Baga”葡萄及“Bical”白葡萄糅合甜美果香及鮮花的清幽香味。

盛事餐廳的主廚Chad Ryan Ogden更特別砲制了數道葡萄牙風味濃厚的菜色。 由3月10至25日, 盛事餐廳準備了多款葡萄牙菜式, 為客人體驗與別不同的葡萄牙風情。

“1812”葡萄酒的命名是紀念美高梅金殿酒店於十二月十八日開幕。

The contract for the preliminary design and investigation of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge's main body was signed on the 13th March, at Zhuhai by the representatives of the three sides (Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau).

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge will start construction within this year. The project has raised enough money and the bidding for its design is underway. The bridge will house a six-lane expressway estimated cost at 72.6 billion yuan, with 120-year design life expectancy.

Once the bridge completed, it will shorten the three hours plus drive from Hong Kong to Zhuhai, Guangdong province to half an hour. Construction of the main bridge, which involves a number of bridges, tunnels and artificial islands will be taken up by the Central Government, with Macau contributing 1.98 billion yuan.

港珠澳大橋前期工作協調小組三方代表3月13日在珠海德翰大酒店與大橋初步設計中標單位簽約, 並在九洲列島對開海面正式啟動勘察設計工作。 大橋將按120年耐久標準設計, 全部勘察和設計過程需時約九個月, 勘探海上作業將于2010年5月底結束。 其中勘察階段的外業, 地質, 水文等勘察條件復雜, 設計工程量相當大, 需時約三個月, 然後將轉入共21項專題研究以及最終設計過程。 勘察指揮部近期將全部陸續就位。

據港珠澳大橋可行性研究報告, 大橋於珠海及澳門兩落腳點, 由原來各自建人工島設置口岸改為珠澳兩地共建一個人工島。 兩地口岸同島分離設置但又連接互通, 珠海口岸仍在原位, 但需增加九點○四公頃填海面積, 總體費用可減少九億七千四百萬元。 澳門口岸較原方案將遠離澳門本島北移約570米, 位於珠海口岸南面與珠海口岸旅檢區相鄰。 專家建議於兩口岸間設置行人天橋供旅客直接步行往來, 預計步行時間6、7分鐘。 行人天橋長度約390米。 據悉, 澳門口岸, 道路網及相關的基建配套將由澳門本身承擔, 整個人工島則合並堆填。

港珠澳大橋力爭2009年底動工, 2015年至2016年建成通車, 大橋建成後開車從香港到珠海、澳門的時間將由現在的3個多小時, 縮減為約半個小時。

Macau International Film and Video Festival 2009 二００九澳門國際電影及錄像展 (二００九澳门国际电影及录像展)

The 3rd edition of the Macau International Film and Video Festival will take place in April 2009. This year's edition comprising several sections and focusing both on Macau documentaries as well as international films. Macau International Film and Video Festival is presented by the Macau Cultural Centre, with local film and video producers invited to present their works during the event. The festival will serves as a platform for local film producers and directors to show their work and bring them closer to their international counterparts.

This year’s program features three different sections:
1) A selection of top-quality international films from the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival.
2) CCM has invited directors to come to Macau and share their views on their work in the “Meet-the-Directors” sessions, including Finish director Dome Karukoski and Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski.
3) CCM has been receiving short films, videos, documentaries, animation films, music videos, conceptual or experimental works and some were accepted to be first presented to the audience and a panel of invited judges during the festival.

為鼓勵更具水準及誠意的澳門本土電影錄像創作, 由澳門文化中心主辦, 《澳門國際電影及錄像展二００九》將於4月3日至4月12日期間進行。 多套精彩影片不但為澳門觀衆帶來世界各地的影戲佳作, 亦讓大家聚焦澳門本土話題。

Macau Government launches tender for fourth 3G mobile phone license 澳門將發第四張3G牌 (澳门将发第四张3G牌)

The Macau government announced it had launched a tender for a fourth third generation (3G) mobile telephone services license. The proposals are due to be opened on 4 May, followed by a maximum period of 6 months until the Government’s final decision is made.

Macau currently has 915,000 mobile phones and 220,000 3G mobile telephone subscribers, it has one of the highest usage rate in the world. Third generation (3G) mobile telephones account for some 25 percent of total subscribers, which is the reason why the Government “believes that there is still room for licences.

Macau’s Companhia de Telecomunicações (CTM), Hutchison and China Telecom are the three current 3G operators.

Local band 'Soler' will perform at a new TV show which will soon be broadcast at TDM. The program will be shoot at the Forum de Macau on 4th March.

Julio and Dino Acconci were born in Macau. They moved back to Italy when they reached adulthood. Since then, both brothers worked in Italy and also in the UK. Julio was a designer by trade while Dino worked for music schools as a teacher prior to their debut in Hong Kong. They returned to Macau in 2000.

澳門樂壇備受矚目的組合Soler將以Full Band形式演出澳門電視台全新音樂節目“唱好舞台”, Solar將以火熱的歌喉大唱首本名曲以及零距離與樂迷接觸。 “唱好舞台”節目於3月4日晚八時假綜藝二館舉行。 演唱會稍後將於澳門電視台播出。 除了演出外, Soler還擔任“唱好舞台”的主持。

Soler兄弟 - Julio及Dino在澳門出生長大, 17歲時離開澳門到意大利, 弟弟Dino就讀於意大利的高中及大學, 哥哥Julio則就讀於意大利的設計學院, 二人亦曾在英國工作, 至2000年後回澳門發展。

Macau Music Award 第七屆澳廣視至愛新聽力歌曲選舉 (第七届澳广视至爱新听力歌曲选举)

為發掘及培養本地音樂人才，推廣澳門原創音樂，今年《澳廣視至愛新聽力》將加大力度，除讓所有合資格的參選歌曲接受公眾投票外，對得獎歌曲將製作卡拉OK伴唱音樂製品，發行到世界各地，以達到大力推廣本澳原創音樂作品、使優勝者有更多發展機會的目的。此外，在今屆《澳廣視至愛新聽力》頒獎音樂會中，將公佈十九個獎項，包括十二首「至愛」歌曲獎、十二首「至愛」歌曲中的金獎、最佳作曲、填詞、編曲獎、最佳演繹、最佳新聲及最受歡迎歌手獎。此外，為鼓勵更多本澳具備潛質的音樂人才參與，每個獎項加設現金獎，金獎獎金一萬八千元，十二首至愛歌曲獎各得八千元，其餘六個獎項各得六千元，獎金總額達十五萬元。

2009年的第七屆《澳廣視至愛新聽力》歌曲選舉，將會是一個令觀眾耳目一新，令本澳音樂作品大放異彩的音樂盛會。有興趣參加是次歌曲選舉的人士，可接直下載報名表格或者到澳門電視台或澳門電台索取。
