SJM (Sociedade de Jogos de Macau) propose to build a four star James Bond theme hotel at the Cotai Strip. This move is to increase their market share in the Macau's gaming industry even further from the current 30%.

Currently the company owns two piece of lands at Cotai, the four star hotel will be built at one of these land, with an area of 10000 sq m.

Chignon pieces are a sophisticated web of diamond straps. The jewelry features an unbelievable combination of gems and free space. The modern design is balanced and harmonized by a classical choice of materials: white gold and diamonds. At the bottom of this “precious clew” is tied together with a branded rose gold strip.

Galera a Robuchon retained three stars in the Michelin's guide 2010 edition 葡京酒店Robuchon a Galera蟬聯2010年港澳米芝蓮指南最高三星級餐廳

The Michelin Guide gave top honors again to the Galera a Robuchon in Macau, located at the Lisboa Hotel and Casino in the guide’s 2010 edition. The restaurant was awarded the top-ranked three Michelin stars, run by celebrated French chef Joel Robuchon. Three stars indicate "exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey"

The edition reviewed 53 restaurants in Macau. Among the new inclusions in Macau are the Lei Garden at the Venetian Macau Resort, Wing Lei at Wynn's Macau Hotel and Casino. Tung Yee Heen at Grand Lapa Hotel, Lei Garden at the Venetian, Jade Garden at StarWorld Hotel and Casino, and the Aurora at Altira Macau.

One of the world's most famous pieces of pop memorabilia, Michael Jackson's white sequined glove was sold for $350,000 at a memorabilia auction in New York City. The hotel will open a gallery early next year to showcase the glove and nine other Jackson items from the auction. Among the nine other items that Ponte 16 bought were a pair of sequin-encrusted socks, portraits of Charlie Chaplin drawn by Jackson as a child, and a shirt he wore in his iconic "Thriller" video.

Hoffman Ma, representing Ponte 16 Resort Hotel in Macau, will pay a total US$420,000 once taxes and fees are included, was sold for nine times the expected price. It was valued at $40,000 to $60,000 before the auction. The opening bid of US$10,000 leaped immediately to $120,000, before peaking at $350,000.

The glove was wore by Michael Jackson during his performance at the Motown's 25th Anniversary TV special in 1983, when he premiered the "moonwalk" to the world. After the 1983 performance, Michael Jackson gave Walter Orange the glove after Orange insisted the pop star's performance would make him more famous.

The 22-year-old Italian - Edoardo Mortara, wins the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix after a race long battle with Singature team-mate Jean-Karl Vernay.

“It feels fantastic.”

“So many things are going through my head I don't know where to start. I feel so emotional. After such a difficult season this year, it is unbelievable. I am proud of this victory.” Mortara said. He hopes that his hard-earned victory in the blue-riband Formula 3 event will prove that he has the talent to go all the way to Formula 1.

During the race, Mortara started from third on the grid, but a good start allowed him to move past front-row starter Marcus Ericsson (TOM'S) and pole position man Vernay on the run down to Lisboa. The race was stopped a few moments later. Jean-Karl Vernay, who had won the qualification race, was leading the main event from Edoardo Mortara. Vernay made a mistake just a few laps from home as he changed up through the gears on the exit of the Melco Hairpin, allowed Mortara to close up on him and swoop past into the lead into Lisboa on lap 12. Mortara was able to pull away and take the victory from them. Briton Sam Bird finished third.

Augusto Farfus took victory for BMW in the shortened final round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Macau, as SEAT’s Gabriele Tarquini clinched the drivers’ crown.

Farfus led away cleanly from pole position, and held an advantage throughout the early stages of the race from BMW team-mate Jorg Muller, who himself was fighting off the close attention of SEAT duo Yvan Muller and Tiago Monteiro.

Their battle was interrupted by a safety car on lap three, when Tom Boardman crashed in the Solitude Esses, and then the race was red flagged at the end of lap eight when there was a spectacular crash at the R Bend final corner. Felix Porteiro had run wide and hit the barriers, before his car was swiped by Franz Engstler’s BMW. Engstler’s car was then left stationary in the middle of the track where it was collected heavily by local driver Andre Couto. With debris all over the track there was no option but to halt the race and, after a brief delay, it was decided that the event would not be restarted.

It meant that Tarquini’s fifth placed finish was enough for him to take the FIA WTCC crown, with his SEAT team doing enough to take the manufacturers’ title.

“It is fantastic,” said Tarquini. “I had some crashes in practice and qualifying, which isn’t the best way to approach the weekend in Macau, but the team did a fantastic job to rebuild the car.”

The 26-year-old Scottish road racer, Stuart Easton (Hydrex IGT Honda) won the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix for the second year in a row, breaking the lap record in the process. Easton led the pack away from the start on the opening lap and had built up a lead of over six seconds. His main rival - Conor Cummins (PBM Kawasaki WSBK Team), the 23-year-old from the Isle of Man, then started to catch him rapidly. before his rear tyre began to show signs of excessive wear on lap six. Easton victory was in doubt until the final few yards after striking rear tyre problems. He regained the advantage and then used the lapped traffic to stretch an advantage over Cummins, crossing the line almost two fifths of a second in front of his rival.

Easton set a new lap record for the 6.2km Guia Circuit at two minutes 25.17 seconds – 151.76kph on the fifth lap of the event. Ian Hutchinson, the 30-year-old Yorkshire rider, on a second PBM Kawasaki WSBK Team machine ran home in third place, his best ever finish in the event, after catching and re-passing Gary Johnson, the 29-year-old from Lincolnshire, in the closing stages to cross the line over five seconds ahead.

Japan’s Keita Sawa finally claimed victory at the wheel of his LKM-backed Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, winning the second running of the Macau GT Cup today. Sawa grabbed the lead from pole-sitter Darryl O’Young in a Porsche Cup S at the rolling start and never looked back, although his Hong Kong rival fought hard to the end. The intense battle saw the LKM-Team Jebsen driver cross the line just 0.285 seconds behind Sawa at the end of the 10-lap race. Third was Briton Danny Watts in a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup, 23.077 behind the leader.

But all eyes were on the fight for the victory between Sawa and O’Young. The Japanese held off his hard-charging rival, who was right on the limit, knocking the walls on more than once occasion. Time and again his attempts to overtake where thwarted by Sawa, and yellow flags in the run to Lisboa bend on the final lap put pay to his hopes of notching up a four Guia Circuit victory.

Said a thrilled Sawa: “It’s fantastic! Four years is too long to wait to win in Macau. I was not worried by the Safety Car, I just focussed on the restart which, through experience, I know how to handle. On the last lap, the back markers had me worried though. I didn’t feel pressure from Darryl behind me as he was the challenger. He was under more pressure than me.”

City of Dreams – Räikkönen Robertson racing driver Mr. Alexander Sims, aged 21, was nominated for ‘Rookie of the Year’ at the Autosport Awards 2009 - one of the motor sport industry’s most prestigious awards - and was the winner of 2008 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award. The 21-year-old British will race in the Mercedes-Benz powered Formula Three car, No 18, emblazoned with City of Dreams livery as part of the dream team at the Macau Grand Prix 2009.

City of Dreams –Räikkönen Robertson Racing driver Mr. Renger van der Zande was the third in British Formula 3 series 2009. It is the third time the 23-year-old Dutch, racing in City of Dreams sponsored car No 17, competing at the Formula 3 of Macau Grand Prix 2009.

The Macau Grand Prix is recognized as the cradle of the hottest motor racing prospects, many previous racers, including current Formula One World Champion Mr. Jenson Button and former World Champion Mr. Lewis Hamilton have gone on to Formula One stardom.

Experts predict during the 2009 Leonid meteor shower, Asia will get the best viewing for the Leonids, with up to hundreds of meteors will be see every hour at the peak of the shower. This year's viewing conditions are close to ideal, allowing observers to see hundreds of meteors, with a clear sky in Macau during the peak time on Tuesday, 17th November.

The Leonid shower is named after the constellation of Leo.


獅子座流星雨重臨, 居民有機會一睹每小時超過百顆流星劃破夜空的浪漫景象。 光的流星可能較金星更光, 更可能出現“火流星”及“流星煙霞”現象, 但仍要視乎當時的天氣條件。

天文學會預測今次流星雨的極盛期出現在11月18日日出前, 相信是繼2001年後最具看頭的一次獅子座流星雨, 黑沙龍爪角將是觀星的不二之選。 由於流星雨極盛期出現或早或遲, “追星族”需觀察16至18日的夜空。

由於獅子座流星雨的輻射點在獅子座, 即東南方, 照輻射點來看, 在本澳望東南方且無遮擋及光害的地方就是觀賞獅子座流星雨的最佳位置。 本澳周邊的光害太多, 流星出現稍縱即逝, 加上燈光干擾, 居民難以觀星。 望海且無光害的路環黑沙龍爪角相信就是觀星的不二之選, 居民無須任何天文器材就可目視璀璨的流星雨。

黑沙龍爪角面海, 環境空曠, 寒夜外出的“追星族”應做足保暖措施。

MGTO launches book in tribute to Macanese food 旅遊局發行烹飪書《澳門珍饈百味》宣傳澳門獨有美食 (旅遊局发行烹饪书《澳门珍馐百味》宣传澳门独有美食)

Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) host a “Taste Macau” dinner in tribute to the Macanese Culinary, with the opening of the 9th Macau Food Festival. On the occasion, MGTO launched the book “Macanese Culinary – 100 Specialities”, authored by João António Ferreira Lamas, to promote the Macanese food unique to Macau.

A number of dinner representatives from several related association were invited to the “Taste Macau” dinner, which was held at the Macau Tower, to taste a menu of special Macanese food, accompanied with Portuguese wine. The event was participated by the representatives of Wine Society of Macau, the Macau Culinary Association, the United Association of Food & Beverage Merchants of Macau, the Macau Chinese Culinary Chefs Association, and the Slow Food Macau Movement, among other guests.

During the dinner MGTO launched the book “Macanese Culinary – 100 Specialities”, the book has a trilingual edition, in Chinese, Portuguese and English. João António Ferreira Lamas - almost 90 years old Portuguese who married with late Macanese Ercília Maria de Sousa Nolasco da Silva, attended to this presentation. The book gathers hundred of recipes of Macanese gastronomy, mostly homemade ones little known by the public selected from the author’s immense collection, which he now shares in this book as one more attempt to keep this unique cuisine tradition alive.

旅遊局特別邀請相關團體代表參加這次特色晚宴, 品嚐澳門獨有的土生葡人美食及葡萄酒。 參加“不一樣的風味”晚宴的團體包括澳門洋酒協會、澳門廚藝協會、土生葡人美食聯誼會、澳門飲食業聯合商會、澳門中廚協會及澳門慢食文化協會等。

旅遊局又於席間舉行《澳門珍饈百味》烹飪書發行儀式, 作者由葡萄牙赴澳出席儀式。 作者若瑟安東尼奧拉瑪士是葡萄牙人, 他已去世的太太蘇沙諾拉斯克蕭華生於澳門, 擁有大量土生葡人食譜。 若瑟積極搜集相關食譜, 當中包括一些甚少公開的家庭食譜。 年近九十歲的若瑟特意整理食譜及出書發行, 與世人分享這獨有美食。 此書包含一百款土生葡人美食食譜, 註有中英葡文字。

Macau Inter-University Institute opens Russian Centre 澳門高等校際學院設立俄羅斯中心 (澳门高等校际学院设立俄罗斯中心)

The Macau Inter-University Institute (IIUM) and the Russkiy Mir Foundation jointly inaugurated the Russian Centre at the IIUM campus. The Russian Center will be open to all communities and “is responsible for the promotion of the Russian Culture, history, language and literature”, the institute said.

Professor Vyacheslav Nikonov - the executive director, and professor Georgy D. Toloraya - the Asia-Pacific director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony included a public address on Russia-China relations and a piano recital.

The opening of the Russian Centre in Macau “represents a new chapter in the academic relationship between Macau and the Russian Federation,” IIUM Rector Ruben Cabral said.

Here’s a Heart – released back in the summer of 1967 – by Joe Jr. & The Side-Effects, was on the top of the Hong Kong radio charts for seven weeks.

56th Macau Grand Prix - 第56屆澳門格蘭披治大賽車 (第56届澳门格兰披治大赛车)

The Macau Grand Prix - a race meeting to which the world's leading Formula 3 and touring car drivers. This edition of Macau Grand Prix will attract more than 200 competitors as well as thousands of motor sports fans descend on the city, for the world-famous international street circuit race meeting which features both car and motorcycle races. The event will be held from November 19-22.

The three headlines races is the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix – the FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup will leads 30 drivers from the various national championships compete for the unofficial world cup of Formula 3. It will also celebrates the 27th running of its Formula 3 Grand Prix and the fifth anniversary with the FIA World Touring Car Championship where Yvan Muller from France was crowned World Champion.

The move is to position the shop and brand closer to their selective customers. Casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd said it plans to open the flagship casino resort in Macau, the 2,200-room Galaxy Macau is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011.

When completed, the 55000 sq feet casino resort at Cotai, will have 600 gambling tables and 2,200 luxury hotel rooms, suites and villas in three hotels: Galaxy Hotel, Japanese Okura Hotel and Banyan Tree suite and villa complex.

"We are extremely excited about the opening of Galaxy Macau. As the first element in a multiphase long-term development plan, this project is a clear statement of our confidence and conviction in the potential of Macau," Company Secretary Kitty Chan said in the statement.

The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) & Muay Thai Grand Extreme is the first major-scale martial arts event offered by City of Dreams, which joined Kontact and I-1 Official in bringing this event to Macau was held at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Macau at

The first Hard Rock Pool Party was successfully held at Hard Rock Hotel - City of Dreams on the October 31. Popular Macanese band Soler and international DJs, DJ Kenji Hidaka from Japan and DJ Hubert de la Bath from France rocked the party with a live performance under festive Halloween ambiance at City of Dreams. Other entertainment for party revellers included performances by roving “zombies”, free face painting, Fancy Costume Contest and free-flow „trick & treat‟ give-aways. Signature drinks and tapas were served with themed Halloween specialties to whet the guests‟ appetites.

Soler is a Macanese rock band formed by Eurasian twin brothers Julio Acconci (piano/vocals) and Dino Acconci (guitar/vocals). Soler is renowned for the quality of their live performances, and the unique Soler sound. The band composes all their own music and produces songs for other artists in the Greater China region.

Guests DJ Kenji Hidaka, originally from Tokyo and now based in Hong Kong, his music style is very driving funky Latin fused house music with bouncing soulful disco elements.

DJ Hubert de la Bath, ambassador to the French touch in early 90‟ in Asia, popular for playing a selection featuring dirty dusty disco, old skull, hip hop, Balearic chuggers and electronic oddities were also on-stage to spin the music for the evening, in true hard-rocking style.

Hong Kong's SmarTone has announced the company will invest MOP100 million to build an advanced 3G network and to provide a wide range of 3G services. It will enable the company to introduce more effective competition in the market, by offering unique 3G multimedia services which are more compelling than those currently available.

The telecom company has been awarded a 3G licence on September.

Taiwan First Commercial Bank ready to open its Macau branch 台灣第一銀行落戶澳門 (台湾第一银行落户澳门)

One of Taiwan's largest privately owned banks, First Commercial Bank, has chosen to open a new branch in Macau. The Monetary Authory in Macau has recently licensed the bank to open its branch.

The branch will be up and running on April 2010 if everything goes well. It will be the second Taiwanese bank to have opened up a branch in Macau after Bank Sinopac. The Macau branch will serve the small to medium-sized Taiwanese firms in the city and neighboring Shenzhen and Dongguan.

Gensler's 7.5 million sq ft project, consisting of 4,000 hotel rooms, 200 residential units, casino, retail mall, convention meeting rooms, and theatre, CASINO! pushes the current trend of casino resort design to a new level of contemporary architecture.

The building’s form is a response to the programmatic challenges given by the client to keep the interior casino space column-free, and to have a bold, memorable presence on the main strip. Historically, casino forms have been driven by an attempt to keep the gaming space open. This has led to a formulaic architectural diagram: placing the casino in the center and pushing hotel towers out to the periphery. CASINO! completely redefines this casino design formula by creating an “X” shape in plan directly over the gaming space. The towers pull away from the perimeter edge of the site, thus setting back the main mass of the building from the strip. This has the dual purpose of creating a more dynamic perspective from the strip, while simultaneously acknowledging and embracing the park directly across the street.

To keep the interior gaming space column-free, the towers push up in the center, creating two 80-meter tall arches that span over the casino / retail space below. To expose the tower legs, the podium is cut back from the site edge, carving out a smooth concave form to meet the strip. The entire project, both interior and exterior, seeks inventive, bold architectural moves.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. announced the company seeks to raise some $2.5 billion in a public stock offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at the end of November. The company has completed its listing committee hearing with the exchange and that the listing application for its subsidiary - Sands China Ltd, still awaits formal approval.

The new shares are expected to begin trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange on the 30th November, with the price of the shares to be determined around 19th November. It will be mark as the second largest Hong Kong IPO this year.

Las Vegas Sands, follows Wynn Resorts in selling a stake in its Macau unit to boost capital, intends to use some of the funds raised to repay debt and resume construction of suspended Macau projects. Projects including a Shangri-La/Traders hotel, a Sheraton hotel and three casinos along two neighboring sites will be resume.

To mark this special occasion as a multitude of creative talent comes together in harmony, City of Dreams released ‘The Art of the City’ collection guidebook at City of Dreams. With over 150 art pieces throughout the common areas of City of Dreams, in-depth information of 18 significant artists with 22 art pieces – their style, inspiration and pieces, are featured in the guidebook along with glossy pictures of the displayed works. Modern artists such as Mr. Xue Song, Ms. Marion Borgelt, Mr. Wu Shaoxiang, Ms. Chen Yu, Mr. Liu Ye, Mr. Danny Lee, Mr. Bo Yun and Mr. Wang Yehan along with others are some of the high-caliber artists exhibiting work throughout the integrated resort.

Macau Fisherman’s Wharf is going to bring you the 2nd phrase of 'International Cultural Food Festival 2009 - Beer, Wine & Seafood Festival', feast spotlighting on beer and wine cultures, from November 13 -22, 2009 at 16:00 to 22:00. The festival will features series of decent beers and wines from all over the world, fresh seafood from Australia and New Zealand, and various delicious cuisine.

Wine Taste Dinner and Seminar, presented by renowned chefs Mr. Tony Bullot and Mr. Patrick Périé, has been arranged on November 13, 14 and 19, 2009 at Vic’s Café in Rocks Hotel. It is a great opportunity for sovouring fine delicacies with quality wines, as well as receiving the guest chefs’ experience sharing. A variety of vintages from Portugal, German, China, Hong Kong and Macau will be showcased at Campo Maior (Lisbon II) on November 13-15th and 20-22th 2009, 18:00 – 21:00.

“啤酒、紅酒及海鮮美食節” 舉行期間, 漁人碼頭葡萄牙館將變身成酒窖, 展示來自世界各地釀酒商的頂級葡萄酒供客人挑選。 這不僅提供產自澳洲、法國、意大利、紐西蘭及葡萄牙之葡萄酒，讓大眾能親嘗不同國家出品之獨特口味, 還能為收藏家提供物色心儀佳釀的好地方。
